always love seeing people get into Black Ops 4's story. I cannot believe this was an actual thing that was shipped with an actual game but somehow it feels exactly in line with how weird BO3 was
One game without David Goyer and they made Black Ops 3 - a disastrous campaign. Two games without David Goyer and they made Black Ops 4 - a schizophrasia. Three games with David Goyer and they made Black Ops 6 - we'll see about the campaign.
Reznov is the first archetype when you look back at Black Ops lore. Reznov managed to brainwash Alex into making him think and be Reznov. Black Out you need to shift your perspective and view that it is the player himself who was brainwashed into whatever Archetype you decide play as. Black Ops 4 with Woods trying to convince that is was Mason in the shipping container in the beginning of BO2 can be viewed as a false narrative since it would have been a game of telephone for the Mason granddaugther to even have learned that info from David Mason Black Ops 3 protagonist died in the hospital bed and Corvus Taylor was upset that the real Taylor got him to purge his DNI to stop to corvus hack. Cold War I believe Bells memories were actually Russel Adlers the entire time or Hudsons for the flash back scenes inside the KGB/ perseus
I saw the thumbnail and instantly knew what Woody was doing😂💀 Im glad you made this video though. The hidden story of bo4 always intrigued me(minus the Woods thing)
I remember falling down this rabbit hole lol But the archetypes being real people and not simulated is news to me. I thought they were in the computer running blackout. Like that’s how Menendez talked to Mason’s granddaughter in her bed, by being in her DNI
The simulation would also match BO3's lore too. Thats why I made sure to include Vahn confirming Blackout is all real because it just throws everything out the window lol
It's a hot take, but I kind of DID want to see what happened. Maybe I'm a sucker for slop but my mind was like, "How tf will they write themselves out of this one?"
David Mason is in Bo4. He's a playable character in Blackout, except he looks exactly the same as he did in Bo2. Meaning it's either an archetype of him or it just isn't canon.
Now if you look at the bo4 zombies storyline it shows that they ended the multiverse and started a new one and in the new one is the newer modern warfares, Cold War, vanguard and the up coming bo6, it’s all connected because the zombies storyline is now connect to the Campaign side kinda
This garbage is what happens when: 1. You stop using national factions and have a glorified “My Team vs Enemy Team” of clones vs real people. 2. You try to have a “L0r3” reason to have clones fighting each other instead just saying who cares. Just play the game. 3. You can’t let the past go. The one time they tried to let go (BO3) they have a terrible campaign. So they course correct by having everybody from the past because “they’re fan favorites.”
The archetypes shit is so stupid. Bo3 multiplayer already had a good lore reason for specialists and operators. It's a combat simulation. I dont know why they needed to make it more complicated
Bo2 will be retconned maybe since they try always to make things close to reality like Los Angeles being destroyed being fictional so i'm wondering how it will play out. Declassified is retconned i think since they changed the way they made Menendez father's death in another scenario in Cold War Cartel MP lying on the bed instead of being shot. Hype for BO6 Campaign :)
