Uff, what would be the efficiency compared to batteries? 70% Ammonia production times 30% combustion engine times ?% separation of N and H... So maybe 20% maximum?

The challenge was to burn 100% of the hydrogen which Toyota says they can do. At 95% ammonia would be less effective and be a higher polluter. At 100 % burn it would be a much higher effective % than any other fuel. Depending on load it's overall effectiveness would very. All internal combustion engine produce more heat quality than rotation force so no internal combustion engine is perfect. Ammonia is still one of the cleanest and abundantly available fuels we could go to.

I don't have the exact numbers but no mode of transportation is greatly efficient. Remember we were discussing pollution emissions not what's most fuel efficient.
