Hi everyone! In the two years since we started this channel, we've helped more than 70+ students get into every single Ivy League School, Stanford, MIT and more! Also, please note that we do take on exceptional low-income students every year, so if you identify as part of that group and would like a scholarship, let us know! I hope you found this video helpful and are having a wonderful day 😇
Doesn't it defeat the whole purpose of it being secret if everyone knows about it. 90% of the allure of them is that there is secrecy. You have to make it secret enough where people will wonder, but not so secret that literally nobody knows about it at all.
that's true! they used to be way more secret and there's still a few things that are taboo to discuss (like sharing your society members' life stories or discussing what the inside of your "tomb" looks like) but for the most part, who's part of what society is quite transparent
I was wondering how you were so good at teaching baby freezes...now I know 🤪. Thanks for demystifying some of the secrecy behind secret societies. Question: how do you think the tapping/interview process will work this year Kev, with everyone being remote, and many people on a leave of absence or gap sem/year?
Well damn, I was hoping they were “yas yas, here here my fine fellow. Let us rule thine world with an iron fist” type people. Instead it’s just a fancier frat with modern technology
Just wealthy families making sure their kids are tight with other wealth. To make sure the wealth and power are maintained. The rest are just poor people copies.
Not true...My cousin was tapped by Book and Snake secret society at Yale in her junior year...Our family are immigrants and definitely not millionaires or legacy. The stereotype of Yale secret societies was true until the 90's...but has gone major change in last 20 years...They are more diverse and less legacy now...And also a lot less secret too... It's more of a senior year social club nowadays than some new world order ritualistic cult...As far as networking is concerned,my cousin did get a small hedge fund internship through her society networking after graduation but she didn't like the hedge fund lifestyle and work culture.
@@pluutoop No...but it is need blind...meaning it never rejects students bcoz of their poor financial status ....the have various financial aids, scholarships etc for students who need those to attend Yale.
@@vivek27789 oh ok. Because Augustin Hadelich was hired as a violin teacher in Yale and he said students don't need to pay for school. So I'm confused now
@@pluutoop I have heard Yale school of drama will be tution free from this year due to $150 million dollar donation by David Geffen. Ok I did further Google search...Yes ...Yale school of Music also gives full tution scholarship to the accepted students.
Hey guys! If you found this video even mildly entertaining or helpful, it would really mean the world if you considered liking and subscribing -- the channel is very small, so everything helps! 😇
it's pretty hard to tell actually -- the quality of the society really varies from year to year. The older ones typically have a stronger alumni base, but newer ones can also be more fun and enjoyable with less restrictions (like the older ones have events with alumni + other requirements)
I literally knew nothing about societies before I joined lol. I just wanted to be a part of one and I think at that point in time I would've picked any society who picked me (forgot to mention that I only got one offer and it was suuuper last minute) but all worked out in the end! great question T
Very interesting, iam a Freemason and you can and most do stay for life, you even have Masonic funerals,we have lodges everywhere and when you become a member you must clearing a belief in god, being a member is like climbing a big ladder, and nowadays I even have more possibilities to serve my community.
I don't know if this question is relevant. Does crafting the interest of joining secret society in the supplemental essays increase the chance of getting into Yale?
interesting video but I didn't hear any "hidden truths" per se. Of course, I would imagine that if you revealed too much about the society you are in, your membership would be jeopardized.
