For me jhu was the most damage dealer though its single target, It only needs atleast 3 to 4 consecutive crits to down a single hero and a huge damage from his green ability disregarding armor coz its pure damage and health percentage damage PER HIT!
I actually love math and when I'll have a bit more time I'd love to write some simple calculator which will optimize investment vs result at current stats of a hero
I like math as well. I created some calculators in Excel to determine the armor and Magic defense stats of the Outland bosses and to figure out which glyphs or skins would provide the biggest increase in damage. The thing I realized though, was that this worked to figure out the best way to increase the damage of a single hit, but not necessarily for the entire battle. This was because some attacks hit more frequently. Trying to figure out the optimum place to spend resources between 5 heroes mathmatically would be very complicated, probably impossible because the timing is unpredictable.
Like Charlie says though, I generally found increasing the penetration stats was the most economical way to increase damage, up to the point that the penetration is equal to the opponents defense stat.
one important point in this math are the artifact weapons. An 6* L100 artifact weapon adds 32k armor, so if even if you have e.g. Cleaver, Luther, Galahad with ~28k armor, they will end with 60k (for 9 seconds), if ONE artifact weapon triggers. And beside the tanks there are some other heroes (Andvari, Arachne, Astrid, Jet, Helios, Martha) who have an armor weapon too (but of course you can stack armor penetration too)
Interesting. I would say this is part of a larger topic, maximizing damage. For example, I've been working with my secondary team and raising the Magic Penetration of my Phobos, but the damage dealt has not really increased. The reason why is because the enemies he is fighing are taking full damage, but boosting his Magic Penetration does NOT boost his base attack.
5:08 I think 2/3 of the damage would actually be blocked. Once armor is reduced by AP, it seems to use the same formula as dodge or crit, but with a flat 3000 instead of the attacker's main stat. So the 3000 AP would increase the damage by 1/3 (from 250 to 333 per attack), by changing the fraction blocked from 9000 / (9000 + 3000) to 6000 / (6000 + 3000).
hi charlie, video is good as usual, but 1 thing u can add .....when alvanor applies shield ,then all those basic crit dmg dealers attacks get blocked, and more importantly those hits are just basic ones, and since they dont get to hit the hero, those are also not crit dmgs.....so that shield holds on for a long time allowing AP guys like karkh / keira to destroy the opponent crit team in that time
8:34... If you compare a max star level AP weapon to a max star armor one they cancle each other out, the AP ones give 30,040 armor pen while the armor ones give 30,040 armor. And that is not including teams that say run Astroth and Marth and so have 2x the armor weapons. So unless your running something like Elmir/Qing Mao/ DD/ Fox/ Dorian there is no guarantee that the enemies armor will be 0 since teams like Astroth/Martha add 60,080 armor to the team. But at the same time against teams that say use Aurora and Celeste odds are even a single AP artifact will bring the enemy to 0 armor with 0 AP on the heroes, so it depends on the team. But at the end of the day the AP weapons are only active 9 seconds at a time where are natural AP is always active so it is never truly a waist since unlike Orian's Magic Pen you can't be sure the AP will always be active.
I think to do a better comparison of armor penetration vs. crit hit, you need to take a look at a more concrete example so that you can compare "increased investment in crit" against "increased investment in AP." This current video treats crit as just being something less than 100% and then acts like AP is better because you can keep boosting AP--but the reality is that you can keep investing in either crit (to increase % chance) OR in AP (to increase reduction of armor's reduction). Maybe best to take a hypothetical maxed Astaroth (or other tank) and then consider an Ishmael without either his crit hit glyph or his AP glyph (and compare expected damage for each). That is, if you were to max his crit hit glyph, then his expected damage is X (where you actually calculate and account for probability of crit and the lower AP) and compare that to if you instead max his AP glyph, then his expected damage is Y (where, again, you actually calculate and account for the now lower probability of crit but the higher AP).
I've seen a few lists of heroes w crit hit and / or AP other than Kiera Yas khark dante seb jhu dare devil artimis iris andvari dar star fox ishma is there anyone im missing for CH AP? I'd like to have a min on crit hit of 5500
Serious question. Near the end of Elemental season is the prize of 15 Elemental Tournament Certificates. Assuming you are a player with NO hero's from the Tournament shop, with just a couple of teams in the 80-90 level (facebook/web). Which hero would you recommend slapping those down on and bringing up in levels to eventually join one of your main teams.
sounds like crit isn't worth the investment when it can go towards AP. Would it be too hasty to say that crit heroes are therefore inferior (only on the surface!) to heroes that don't crit but have higher AP?
Quick heads up, you didn't mess up the math but at 4:29 you post stuff like "1000 damage 75% = 250 damage" that by context we understand it's the difference; but that's a big no-no in maths notation. 🤓 Either have the subtraction sign or use the actual value of how much is actually being blocked, because it's details like these that make using maths "complicated" when actually it's not.
I am using yasmine jhu and sebastian trio. That is a great combination for some rivals. Sebastian both provides crit and reduces rival's tank armor as if he gives armor pene, and he also gives crit hit chance. Thanks to sebastian's 4th skill that gives pure damage when they hit crit. No tank can resist on this trio 🙂
I think you have some influence on the people from Hero Wars (developers). WHY DID THEY CRIPPLE ISHMAEL????? It was the worst nightmare maybe 2 years ago. Then his armor penetration wasn't high enough and NOBODY USES him but me. If the armor is not high, he can make 68.000 damage in one blow. He is a real butcher, but because he can't fight any tank with the high armor, NOBODY uses him. Even some jerks like Dante are used and they are promoted, but ISHMAEL is TOTALLY FORGOTTEN for two years. I don't have any player in my guild who uses Ishmael in the best crew of heroes, ONLY I use him. With his help, I always win the tower and my 101lv heroes often beat 130lv teams, just because of Ishmael, who can slaughter almost any hero. When Hero Wars developers will PAY ATTENTION to FB version of Ishmael? Why so great hero is totally forgotten and from the hero No1 he is the least used hero????? IT HAS NO SENSE.
Guys when and why Keira got changed so she is not undead any more ???? I have just noticed it now my team sinergy is s*** I was useing her with Corvus and Morrigan
So, if I put forth 72% effort 93% of the time, I can expect a lack of sleep, and delirious tremors? What's the policy on Premonitions induced by Potions? P.S. No prizes for watching the Professor's rant?!?
P.P.S. I already know Wednesday's Lottery #'s But if I posted them online, approximately 30,000,000 people would win the grand prize making each ticket worth $0.17!
I did not understand anything.. Either I am stupid or the statistics are complicated for an ordinary person who plays a normal game.. Note: Why all this complexity.. It is a game and not the preparation of higher studies in mathematics
Helios makes all this irrelevant. Helios can and will take out ANY Hero that critically hits. if Helios is Built up. I love it when someone puts all Crit. hitters in a team.
a full blown DD with a Dorian backup stays alive, when she is fast enough to get through the enemy tanks. AP is her achilles, so you need Elmir / Qin / Tristan. Depending on mobile or web, she has different affects as mentioned in the video.
The way he analyzed this topic was inefficient, confusing, and most importantly, unable to get to the gist of this topic. He never analyzed the cost of investment into crit vs armor pen, that is, comparing the actual damage buff you get from crit vs. armor pen with the same amount of resources. It’s that easy, but he failed
@@thedino2712 then that is rather simple and shallow and most importantly, it doesn’t matter to the great majority of the players who don’t have maxed out heroes
@@dante3578 I believe that he also did mention that critical hit was better at the beginning, but just couldn't stand up to the armor later, making AP better later game.
