love how when inflation is taken into account (i think that's what happens in the end) endgame is just booted to 5th while avatar is cuddled into second as if nothing happened lmao
@@asleepcrow3 Honestly, the first time I watched Avatar, I was like "Wow the CGI is dope and fantastic" but it gets pretty boring, the story isn't special, just a dude who falls in love with the princess of a tribe, that's all.
Titanic with the current inflation of 3 billion, 2 decades and nobody has learned that it is not necessary to make only hero films today. A good romance / drama still has space in 2020!
Things I learned; -Stallone had a big 1985 -Will Smith had a two movie streak in the 90s -Armageddon was really big? -Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was MASSIVE -Mission: Impossible 2 was big... -The Matrix Reloaded was the highest grossing R rated movie ever.
Gone with the Wind would actually have earned 7.4 billion if it was released today lol...leaves every other fantasy marvel flick way far back in it's dust
In adjusted figures, it's the highest grossing film of all time. Of course, it was initially released today it would be much more controversial as well.
@@Sleepless-nights99 It's a very simple math really - adjusted for inflation, GWTW made the most money of all time (at least in theaters that is). There's nothing to argue here about, it's just cold hard numbers lol...
Definitely showing the list at the end of it all was highly accurate. I still believe Titanic is way more than what it says, everyone and their grandmas -not just mothers- has the Titanic.
Highest grossing movies back then: Gone with the Wind, The Sound of Music, The Godfather, Jaws, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Rocky, Star Wars, Raiders, Back to the Future, ET Highest grossing movies now; Transformers 67, Jurassic World 18, Minions, Fast and Furious 38, Crappy Disney Star Wars
All this time . My favorite titanic was the only movie I know that has the top grossing movie in history. But finding this movie "Gone with the wind? Hell I should watch this movie ! F**K 😑😑
Not only should you adjust for inflation. You should also adjust for population count. In 1939, all of america saw Gone With the Wind, and that’s a population of, what, 150 people? Imagine if that same percentage of the current population saw on of these comic book movies today?
In the decades of 1900 1rupee is equal to 1000 rupee of decades of 2000.So the movies like Titanic , The lion king may earn more than 3 billion if released in the decades of 2000.
I like how the people over at REACT think Black Panther is part of the Top 10 highest-grossing movies when it made to 11th place. This is a minor nitpick here, but it's one I'd like to point out anyway.
@@henryesj6242 well the critics didn’t rate them high but the audiences seemed to had to really enjoyed and liked both. Both have good audience scores, I Haven’t seen either tho.
I still have not seen Titanic, Lord of the Rings, Avengers, The Sound of Music, nor Dr. Zhivago. The only time that I saw a Pirates of the Caribbean movie was as late as the summer of 2021. I’ve only seen the first movie of that series. The only time that I saw a Harry Potter movie was as late as early 2021, it was the first of the movie series, and it’s the only Potter movie that I care about seeing since I don’t like the premise of the stories of Harry Potter. I don’t care about seeing any of the Lord of the Rings movies.
Avatar Is THE most overrated boring of all. After the 90's the quality of movies and entertainment In general took a giant nosedive. All Marvel comic flicks from 2000 - now sucked too and all seem the same imo. Blade from 1998 paved the way yet gets no credit , but still the only one I ever liked.
Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong, NOT adjusted for inflation this whole video is bogus, highest grossing movie of all time is 1 Gone with the Wind $3,706,000,000 1939
Avatar is one of the most highest grossing movies of all time, stayed number one for around a decade, no sequels and nobody remembers a single line of dialogue
