I noticed when you put the 2 rear brackets (where it locks) - The one on the driver's side you used the top hole - and on the passenger side - you used the bottom hole - any reason for that?
What i dont understand is why oem or any after market covers dont come out all the way to the edge of bed & tailgate to keep water out, rhe way they make these they are just within only 1/4" making contact with the bed which is poorly designed from keeping water out.
Nice video. Looks pretty easy to install. Does the cover seal in the rear when the tailgate is up? It looks like there’s a gap on either side where water and or debris could get in.
Thank you for the response. It could just be the angle of the camera or my old eyes but @4:33 to the right of your hand it looks like there’s a gap (opening to the bed) where the cover doesn’t meet the tailgate when it’s closed…🤔 Is this not the case? I’ll be in the market to buy a new cover soon and wanted to make sure it’s sealed all the way around before making a purchase to only return it.
@@tetsuo1294if look at the video again, the bracket on the left he bolted it on the top and the bracket on the right he bolted it at the bottom, that´s why it looks like it has a gap
Unless you fixed it after posting this video, the bracket to your left was bolted on using the top hole (of provided brackets) where as the bracket on the right was using the bottom hole when affixed to the truck bed. Was there a reason why you did that? Was the alignment of the locking pins on the tonneau cover different from one side to the other?
Does it fold up against the back window though or does it do that stupid crap and leave 1/4 of your bed completely useless if you're hauling firewood or anything taller than the cover? I need one but I can't purchase one that doesn't prop all the way up.
The beginning of the video shows the quarter top of tonneau nearest the cab is locked down. I only know of a couple of brands that will allow you to roll up all the way to the front or against the back window as you want and those are easy $1000 plus covers.
