Gateshead FC used to have the highest ranked player-manager in English Football! Which is of course Mike Williamson when he was appointed as player-manager in 2019 for Gateshead FC, he made himself a Gateshead hero by leading us to our first league title since 1900s with the National League North title back in 2022, and leading us to our first ever FA Trophy final in our history! Sadly, he made the step up to the EFL with MK Dons after leaving us and retiring from professional football. Our theme of player managers is still a thing now, our Assistant Manager (Louis Storey) is a player as well as assistant manager!

We were at the final at Wembley in May for Non-League finals day.
