While F4 is not my favorite of the Fallouts, I do appreciate the improved gun play. I do hate that the game is very funneled into what options you have and what you do not. The sidequests are far better than the main "story" , which is literally the flip of F3 ... F4, imo is just VERY shallow compared to Fallout F2, F3 and NV. Which to me is a shame cause they had so much more to work with but it feels like they dropped the ball hard in so many areas. The most fun I have playing it is normally just doing the story til I get Nick and then I go about to get the other companions, to which I then frolic through the Commonwealth making my own adventures...
Yeah, i feel like the Sidequests had better writing, and Nick's pretty good, i think he was written before Fallout 4 was set in Boston. Um... I should probably state that the Synths that are Indistinguishable to Humans are Biological Synths, they're not robots, Gen 1 and 2 are robots. Robots do not need DNA. That is one of the things i do not like about Fallout 4, you have to blow someone up... You can't have a non nuclear option or a more diplomatic option, Bethesda wants you to go full Nuclear. The Lack of RPG elements just bugs the fuck out of me... Fallout is supposed to be an RPG franchise with Shooter elements, not the other way around. The Dialogue Wheel is vague and restricts you to a maximum of 4 dialogue choices, The Perk chart limits you to 70 buyable perks max and unlocking more perks causes FPS drops on the perk chart screen, and all speech checks are strictly Charisma, there aren't any workaround checks like 3/NV where if you say needed 10 Strength to intimidate someone it would auto succeed. Personally i think the Colors are a bit too saturated for a Wasteland, i wish the Darks were darker so it'd feel closer to 3/NV but high res of course. I do like that the Combat is smoother, and has some quality of life stuff, though i wish they fixed the lack of RPG elementsto make it feel like a true successor to 3 and New Vegas.
@@tjhedgescout3052 the side quests really did have better writing. Right for an RPG game they had none of the elements for it they really did try to cater to a bigger audience instead of sticking with what the OG fans of the franchise would’ve wanted
