Not only for his time. He ushered in a new generation and then beat that generation, which ushered in an even newer generation and so on unitl the last one superseeded him. He broke barriers only to break them again. First sub 10 average, first sub 9 average first sub 8 average all in one year. The world has 3 years of hard work to catch up while Feliks is improving in increments. Finally after those 3 years first sub 7 average. Again the world has four years to catch up, again Feliks improves in increments. Then after those four years some crazy kid shows up beating him for the first time in seven years by 0.06 seconds. Everybody goes nuts about Max Park. The new generation is here! Feliks comes back 2 months later to get the first sub 6 average some four years afer the sub 7 average barrier has been broken. He beats that little kid's record by 0.4 seconds ,establishing himself again as the goat. Another 4 years pass by and the new kids implement everything he's done. He beats his own record thrice during that time but then at the end of those four years another little kid shows up to beat that world record average by 0.05 seconds. Everybody goes nuts about Ruihang Xu. And this was last year. I'm just saying "for his time" doesn't quite tell the whole story. Because of him the standard has been raised and raised and raised again. From last year Ruihang's record has been beaten four times, which is crazy and yes I know people have been faster than Feliks for much longer than that. And there haven't been enough competitions but there is something special about how often and how long Feliks has held this prestigious cubing record and how new generatoins (and tech) had to get insane to beat that. My favorite cuber at the moment is Tymon but there will always be the legend that is Feliks Zemdegs.
I used to see a lot of these videos when I started cubing in 2018-2019, from channels which are now completely dead like WR Cubing or similars, and I remained astonished every time. However during the Pandemic I stopped watching this genre of cubing videos, because without competitions and new records I started to feel bored and annoyed of the global situation. Seeing today these new videos with so many new records makes me so happy, and the fact that is with the same format and the same 2016/2018 music makes me extremely nostalgic. I'm also so happy today to see the old records seen indefinitely times that a year ago would have bored me. Thanks for this video, so many emotions💪🏻 (Hope my english is correct)
That’s almost impossible. If you do the calculations it takes about 50 moves for a pro to solve a cube so they would need 17 tps consistently for that to happen Edit: I saw that Xu Ruihang got a 2.67 second solve unofficial WR which is insane
@@unnamedchannelowouwu oh absolutely but like you said if he wanted. And who knows when that'll be. Could be a week could be a month or could be not until 2023
