Yes he is, but at the time of hudaybiyah he still kufr, he becomes muslim at the time of fathul makkah, and after that he becomes excellent muslim. He prevented people of makkah going murtad to kufr after the death of rasulullah

This lack of historical knowledge has allowed Islam to be highjacked by the kings and rulers throughout time. Please read as it was the first call of the Quran. Abu Bakr was not elected but proposed by Umer at Saqifah where battles ensued and sahabas fought each other with the ones with greater power winning. Elections only happen when the people are allowed to choose. Umar was appointed by his predecessor in his will which Osman recorded! When Umar was struck, he devised a plan to choose the next caliph by appointing 6 people and locking them in a room with guards outside. The one who favoured ruling by the ways of the predecessors was chosen by one of the appointed and so Osman became caliph. When he was killed because people were fed up with the corrupt government that he led, people flocked to Ali and asked him to lead. Ali refused categorically but was forced by the Ummah. Muawiyah was made governor of Sham by Umar and in the 20 years as ruler he had gained much wealth and power which he considered his. When Ali asked him to return the rule to the Muslim he caused wars. History then became a long rule of family dynasties starting with the Umayyad dynasty

How is Muawiya - who had only been a Muslim for a few months/ years- being made a ruler for over 20 years when they were people who were loyal to Islam that the caliphs decided to side line- this man Muawiya refused to come when the Prophet (sawas) called him- because he said he wanted to keep eating -three times and then the Prophet (sawas) said Yaa Allah, may his stomach never be filled. He was known to be a huge, obese man who even did Jumma khutbahs sitting down whereas they have to be done standing. But he was the king and he killed anyone who opposed him, including sahabas. The Khawarij were a bunch of rigid people who did not understand the Deen and yet were fully fluent in the Quran and prayed a lot however they were cruel and stupid and misguided. Sadly Islamic history is not as rosy as it is made to look like!

@Holistic Islam you don't even know me. Wahabism runs completely contrary to the teachings of Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamma. Firstly they are literalists who believe God is seated upon his throne, this is alone is kufr and contrary to the Aqida of Imams Ashari and Maturidi, even the schools of Shia reject this idea as propagated by Imam Jafar Sadiq ra. According to ahlu sunna wal jamma you cannot allocate a place for Allah as he is present everywhere. Moreover, this movement originated in Najd and the Prophets saw hadeeth is very clear on the horns of Shaytan from Najd. I don't hate anyone but I pray we all fix ourselves first and unite the ummah.
