Very much enjoyed the history lesson and the catch up on your former employers. Great to see how some of our old favourites are getting on too. I'm stunned that the Salford Messi hasn't made his senior England bow yet!
Great episode. I enjoyed finding out a bit more about the history. I do like a cheeky little catch up too. I love the away kit. This club feels like a good fit.
Usually the reason that beating the bottom of the table is bothersome is because they park the bus and play defensively. The teams at the higher parts of the table tend to attack more because they have quality up front. That leaves them open to counterattacks while the relegation teams prevent that from happening as often because they don't go marauding up the pitch. Quality result, Gaffer! Really looking forward to see how the team looks next season.
Well done! I still have a nasty feeling that qualification and a decent run in Europe may be as much as you (or anyone) can do with this club but you've certainly hit par. A lot hangs on the transfer window and whether Cuk comes good.
I want to hear more about that club that won the league and ended up in the 5th tier. Also, good win. Told you European qualification was a minimum expectation
17:05 From an American football perspective, it's playing *_down_* to the competition. As a coach, whenever the schedule is released, we look for what we call "trap games". Those are games that everyone expects you to win because you're (supposedly) so much better than the other team. Cue Admiral Akbar. Those are the games where you have to spend time reminding the players that anyone can beat anyone on any given day and if they don't focus on all phases, they'll have to explain to everyone why they let a bad team embarrass them.
Llama never change, just as you are saying you might have 10 nervy minutes left, your team is on an attacking highlight & goes on to score 😂😂 Great end to the season, looking forward to see how Europe goes next season.
By the way, after 3 seasons of success with Torquay (Vanarama South to League One), I've just jumped ship to....Birmingham City! Saved them from relegation and finished 7th but no money and an ageing squad. Going to get sticky
