@@JDVG_Comedy_Videos what the hell makes you think universal would do well with them 🤣 Sony didn’t handle the Muppets well for one, not even slightly. But Disney produced the most successful Muppets film of all time. You guys cut Disney so much of the great things they’ve done it’s ridiculous

Man, I never really put it together, but seeing Frank Oz's interview totally confirms to me that Steve was only fired because he wanted the Muppet performers to have creative control over the Muppets and because he didn't back down when Disney told him no, they fired him and dragged his name through the mud to justify their decision.

Pretty much with disney, their way or the highway. I hate how a greedy companies treats their ipsbas just an object and not a work of passion. Yeah I know disney is a for profit company but they way they been handling ips they bought such as the muppets and star war is just sickening.

While it's easy to look at the Muppets and see it as a major franchise that Disney wants to capitalize on NOW, that ignores The Muppets own tumultuous past and mixed success throughout the years. I think what Disney doesn't get is the reason The Muppets work is because they tried and failed a lot. If they aren't given the chance to do that, they can't do what works. Honestly, the 2011 sitcom seemed like such a good opportunity to really explore the characters and develop a style with them that would work for Disney. I can't believe they abandoned it so quickly when it had so much potential.
@SomeBoiOnline

I agree, the sitcom series had its issues, but had it been given at least another series it could have developed and became something great

The saddest part to me about the 2015 sitcom is that it JUST started to improve in the last few episodes (though I believe the whole series is nice, the last few episodes after the writing change is really when the series starts to be "The Muppets" again), they cancelled it due to the response to the earlier episodes. So much wasted potential.

Man your videos are brilliant! Love that one of your main focuses is on The Muppets 💖 Any fan has mixed feelings about the sale of beloved characters, and their disconnection from their original creator, but if it had gone as planned with Jim surviving, I really wish we’d gotten to see what he would have done with his new-found time and creative freedom, and major funds, from the sale. That footage of him on the Arsenio Hall Show BREAKS me, because it was only days after that appearance that he passed away. He even jokes about having a “frog in his throat” because he already had the beginnings of the pneumonia that stole him from us 💔

Man, Disney really doesn't seem to care about The Muppets. I mean think about it, they cancelled any possible future muppet movies just because of Most Wanted not doing the best at the box office, the 2015/2016 TV show gets mixed reviews, show cancelled, and they fired Whitmire basically just for not liking the way Disney was treating The Muppets. And this is coming from the same studio that just keeps on making awful live action remakes. And I think we can all agree that all muppet movies are better than Disney live action remakes. Did I mention that they cancelled ABC's The Muppets because of mixed reviews. But they seem fine to make remakes that are mostly hated.

@@lexramstudios1386 then they’d own Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and every other Muppet production produced if not mistaking. Which with things turned around and the original Muppet performers got more control over the Muppets like we all want, and Disney’s marketing skills would probably result in the most successful and Jim Henson Muppet soul revitalizing era of the Muppets ever. But alas, this is my fantasy
@FreeSpiritPaulette

But it doesn’t have to be a fantasy, necessarily. They’re not perfect, there are a lot of flaws, but nothing they’ve done with the Muppets has been any worse than Sony, Nick or Viacom or WB with Sesame Street

@@SomeBoiOnline it’s kinda sad Sesame Street was split from the muppets I mean I’m not saying there should be an Elmo movie or Elmo in a muppets move or Kermit the frog doing a movie with Elmo any time soon or at all I don’t feel to strongly but whatever. I don’t know about that but I’m just saying Kermit the frog appearing on Sesame Street again with Elmo should happen again but legally can’t happen it’s sad. Although this is coming from a guy who is not a kid doesn’t watch Sesame Street knows no kid who does or any kid for that matter and when there’s a new muppets movie and or tv show I’m like ok? And your point is? And or this affects my life how? And or I should care why? And or it’s important how? And don’t watch it but just the idea of it happening I mean I would like that I don’t like when companies get there ips split up I mean look at marvel they STILL can’t make another hulk movie she hulk legally has to be tv not a movie they don’t own the rights to Namor completely and that’s just when it comes to what universal studios owns. There’s Sony who own Spider-Man (well movie spider man not tv comic or merch and they like half own the rights to video game spider man I mean spider man video games do make marvel money and spider man in the avengers game but only for PS4 and I mean I think they want Spider-Man game off of PlayStation but legally can’t do that just know they as in Sony have some spider man rights in the form of complete movie rights and some but not all video game rights) I mean they don’t play that nice with Disney either I mean at least they let him into the mcu but like? They can’t use venom in the mcu no matter how much they want. Also if they didn’t buy out fox they still wouldn’t have the rights to the X-men or fantastic four or whatever else fox had. At one point even more was sold off. I’m happy Sony did not accept the entire mcu and instead went for spider man instead I mean come on there would be no mcu if they did. I know it’s a different situation with one wanting to be apart of the other like the muppets wanting to be apart of Disney and Sesame Street by if I understand this correctly one of the creators not both but o s of them not wanting it to be part of Disney and no one at marvel wanting to sell the rights off Stan lee wishing he could keep them and hating what was done with fantastic four. But my point is it’s sad that when IPs that were part of the same company and or owned by the same person and or created by the same person and or were in stories together and not just as a promotional seeking point like that one time dc and marvel had comics together get split up I would honestly like Sesame Street to come back together with the muppets just like how everyone except at Sony and universal want the rights marvel still doesn’t have to come back to them.

Sesame Street itself has always been owned by Sesame Workshop (formerly CTW), but the characters themselves were owned by Henson, with merchandising revenue split between the two parties. The characters and this revenue were not to be included in the Disney deal of 1989/90, but were included in the EMTV deal of 2000, until EMTV, under financial strain, sold the complete rights to the Sesame Muppets to Sesame Workshop in late 2000. Then in 2003, EMTV sold Henson back to the Hensons, who then sold the main Muppet franchise to Disney a year later.
