Me playing the game since I was 12: I don't understand a single thing going on in this video, but I'm here for it. Honestly, I never even understood the nitty gritty of D2, it was something I never took the time to learn, and still, even after seeing videos like this, I'm still super lost. Hey you should do a deep dive on how much of the wild west D2 was back in 1.09 with the white rings on west ect, and the bugged ith bows and 4 socket items. Was a weird but awesome time.

I remember having some of these on us open along with some crazier white armor. Interested to hear about it on closed.

Snatchii's gloves is another famous example from Europe.

That brought back some memories, crazy that there are legit versions of these still out on non ladder. Whenever my barb gets rolled hard with his hybrid runewords in nl bvb, it's almost always atleast one or two of the items shown.

Oh man this bring back memories. My bowazon had clifkiller amulets bug 6ps wf bug 4os arcane Valor pretty sure I had some fused boots too. Had a sorc with like level 80 lightning from kings jewels in everything with occy rings and wizzy magefists and all that. I jad a lld barb with bug eye of etlitch and had infinite life pretty much. Only mass crushing blow could take you down really.

I made myself a mod (based on 1.14d) where monsters drop only uniques and where they always pick 7 items (and drop 6). So far I have not yet noticed any fused uniques. So Blizzard either has patched it or it was their server side bug that was not present in game code that was shipped to the end users.

Nice work dude, i played d2 from 2002 to 2010 and you have answered most of my questions. But what about bug tal and bug belt. Where those come from?

Hey Coooley, do you think if we revert our diablo version to something older such s 1.11 or earlier and play with a mod such as enjoysp, can we come across some fused items?

I had no idea that this was even a thing. That could end up creating a truly one of a kind item... I bet having high MF and even running Meph on normal and nightmare, as it's super quick to do, would be worth it to potentially get some decent early to mid game fused uniques. Then using the cube recipe to upgrade them to exceptional / elite base item and see what happens.

I got one for you that I'm sure you didn't cover. Remember the glitch you could do with Generals Tan Do Li Ga in duels. If you put I think 1 on a barb and WW an opponent then they would be perma slowed for the rest of the game. Even if they died in that same game they would resurrect in town just a slow!! The only way they could get back to normal would be to leave the game and join back... I use to do this all the time on Diablo 2 classic I forgot if that was ever patched or not.

Even if bots had pickit set to keep all uniques unid most wouldnt take the time to Id all of them from mules. Not to mention bots dont only run mass mephisto runs due to realm down, they usually have to run baal/chaos ect to make games longer to avoid the temp ban. COOL VIDEO LIKE ALWAYS!

Is there a place where these are listed, I have a gravepalm and heart carver that I think are fused with a Venom grip and a spineripper. Really confused the heck out of me until I saw this video. Thanks Cooley

Going from 1.09 to 1.10 one of my soj's bugged, it lost its +1 skills but gave +75% all resists and a few other things I remember, I wonder if it was bugged with Wizzy I can't remember. All I know is that many months later, one day it "poofed" and I never saw it again. Was a strange period going to 1.10 there was a lot of cool stuff. And I remember when we used to dupe back in the Cow level back then, you could have a zon with full dodge and crash the game and leave and join game and drop your gear while game hasn't refreshed, and then come back and you'd have duplicate gear by the time it resolved. We went to great lengths to dupe back then, you had to put in work, not the lames that do it these days >.>

I remember making these items and white items in an editor. You basically change the unique name to Headstriker in the unique name list and save it, it is now white... I believe these uniques are similar but required copy and paste of the items attts then the name change. Copy the atts from a wizspike and paste to a pair of plain light gaunts, change quality to unique and select the name for it.

i had some of these items over my d2 life.. to be continued... september 23rd....

A fused unique from Mephisto is a true unique item.

I remember at one point when the expansion first dropped you could equip a weapon. Then equip a weapon into the weapon swap slot but press the hotkey for switching between weapon swaps at that exact moment. It would equip both weapons into the same slot and give you the effects of both. Including damage and stats. Have you ever made a video about that glitch?

Cooley, correct me if I'm wrong but Baal can also theoretically drop 6 uniques, right? (in fact, this was just today demonstrated by a redditor in the r/diablo2 sub) Does he also have a "hidden 7th roll" like Meph, that could also potentially cause him to do that?

Somebody showed me something the last Ladder I played (2 years ago) I think it had something to do with the hellforge hammer and the cube. I think he made like a helforge hammer axe or something. Idk but im pretty sure he turned the sprite of the hammer into the unique hatchet. I think it's called the gnarler or something. It junk but still pretty cool

interesting, afaik if you mod the game yourself and set the unigue column to 1024 and run mephisto over and over while all his items will be unique at all time you would not get any fused uniques on 1.13c (I have tested it) btw great content.

I've found a magic circlet in 2002 ,it has 3000+magic find (based on char 's level when my sorc was 88) it dropped from cows

I feel like there is an example of fused uniques that is missing. I have crafted and still have) an amulet I crafter for resistances. Instead, it rolled unique for an existing unique amulet PLUS the resistances.

Do you know what that malus is that makes u not able to die? i used to play a lot and i had a friend on us east it must've been non ladder. when i met him he showed me this thing that looked like and i think was a horadric malus. i tried to kill him and he just couldnt die. although he wasnt able to wield anything else if i remember correctly. havent been able to find anything more about it.

time to set my kolbot to pick up all the diffrent uniques that meph can drop and make a line for each of these items with 1 attribute from each other unique just in case ;) that way he wont keep the item unless it has any of the additional properties that its not supposed to have

So out of curiosity, as this is theoretically still possible in patch 1.14 LoD, has anyone within the community setup a bot and tried testing this via a single player farm for Mephisto? I've looked around a bit myself for a couple days for confirmation of this and haven't come across anything. It would take a bit of setup, and if done in single player for testing purposes you could change the unique drop rates of mephisto so that the only thing he can drop is unique items. Then just setup your bots files so that it is looking for statistics outside of what each unique spawns with and hopefully it'll keep something, or at the very least, log it in a file so that you can see it was picked up and identified at some point to be a potential fused item. Maybe set it so that once it finds a unique outside its normal parameters it will stop all runs so that it doesn't accidently sell any potential fused items? If confirmed that it is still possible, you could then change the drop charts back to what they are on b.net and run the bot program again to try and determine what kind of actual drop rate there might be for online players. Thoughts?
