When I was a kid (90s kid here btw), used to watch re-runs of Wacky Races and Speed Racer on Boomerang and thought the two shows were connected lol.

I'm surprised that Fender Bender 500 wasn't mentioned as spin-off of Wacky Races, but then again it could be/ can be said that its a spin-off to Yogi's Space Race.

I loved waking early on Saturday morning (sometimes to the screen-test pattern), just to get a jump on the day with Clutch Cargo, Johnny Quest, Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny Hour, Astro Boy, Wacky Races, Magilla Gorilla, George of the Jungle... the early 60s were the greatest! Mothers began complaining that the cartoons were too violent an by the late 60s cartoon shows got worse and worse. They were all eventually replaced by soft, lame cartoons and non-animated shows like HR Puff & Stuff, used for marketing and advertizing.

I used to watch all of there's cartoons.... ALL OF THEM EVEN THE BANNA SLITS

I'm sure the jetsons inspired some of the inventions used today such as the video phone. Maybe the moving floor. The robots like rosie. And inspired the flying car of the future.

Whoever filmed this Hanna-Barbera retrospective made a glitch that I bet no one noticed...the Banana Splits were sponsored by Kellogg's, but...all the cereals shown on the shelves were made by General Mills, Kellogg's arch-rival! (General Mills was a cartoon sponsor as well, with shows like "Bullwinkle" and "Underdog".) BTW...Coney Island in Cincinnati is the same park as Kings Island; they changed owners in the early 1970s.

I really enjoy watching old episodes of Jonny Quest :3 Wacky Races is sometimes on, but it's not something I latch onto like glue to paper. Dick Dastardly and Muttly are some of my favorite Hanna-Barbera "villians". It's hard to find "Laugh-O-Lympics" nowadays, I liked watching that too. Great trivia Mat, I can never get the "Tra-la-la" song out of my head. It's annoying, but great at the same time.

Well, its way past 2012. Still no Johnny Quest movie.

'Stop the Pigeon!' Definitely my favourite of the whole Hanna Barbera galaxy! I thought it was great when I found out Dick Dasterdly and Muttley had their own show when I was younger! I used to think Stop the pigeon was kind of interesting as presumably there is some sort of war going on in the background that we never see. Dick talks to the general and presumably the pigeon is carrying military orders...it seems like the kind of scenario fan fiction is made for!

I looked up about Penny voice of Jane Jetson. She died in 2003 aged 95.

I remembered watching some of Hanna Berbera series like Wacky Races,The Peril of Penwelope Pitstop, Dastardly & Muttley in Their Flying Machines, Fender Bender 500, Yogi's Treasure Hunt and Wacky Race reboot 2017. I do wished that Hanna Berbera have finally release Fender Bender 500, Yogi's Treasure Hunt and Wacky Race reboot 2017 in complete DVD collection at last.

I just started watching this channel some days ago. I can't believe this video is from 13 years ago....wow....

I remember Yogi's Treasure Hunt back in the 90's when I was a kid and I love this show. I really wished that the series is final release on complete DVD at last like the other Hanna Berbera series like Wacky Races, The Peril of Penelope Pitstop and Dick Dastary and Muttley in their Flying Machine. Because they have lots of old Yogi's Treasure Hunt video and I think the series deserve to on DVD at last.

There was a special 12 issue comic book series called "Future Quest". It had the Quest team, Frankenstein Jr., Space Ghost, Birdman, The Impossibles, ect.

This was both entertaining and informative, loved it :)

I had a brief period of obsession with Dastardly and Muttley during my sophmore and junior years of collegethanks to Boomerang. The channel was kind of a safe haven for me while the main Cartoon Network was still recovering from five painful years of garbage.

I have only seen the first ten episodes of The Jetsons and the first five episodes of Johnny Quest. For the Jetsons, I actually feel very sorry for George. Not only does he have a cruel and unusual boss, but he often has to sacrifice for his family. I don't want to hate his family; Elroy is still cute and I like the scenario of a big sister (Judy Jetson) and a little brother (Elroy Jetson) in the family, but I can't help but think there are way too many characters who take advantage of George. As for Johnny Quest, although I have only seen the first five episodes, I must say I had an appreciation for the project. Although I found Johnny Quest's voice rather old for a child, it did not stop Johnny from sounding like a real child. He was basically like Sean Marquette voicing Mac from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Also, this may be because I'm older, but I found the action scenes to be pretty tame. I don't know why those parents were complaining so much about it; did any of their children get nightmares from it? The point is, I'm actually tempted to watch a few more episodes of Johnny Quest now. Maybe this will allow me to see more of Dr. Zin, who was only in the last episode I saw.

Jonny Quest is awesome, I wish that more people knew it exsisted. But it doesn't need a live action movie. It just needs to be shown more often. But there are still a lot of fans out there, heck, theres a whole fan site!!

My Dad loved Wacky Races growing up! He does get it confused with Speed Racer though.

Wacky Races was also clearly inspired by Blake Edwards' movie The Great Race.

The Banana Bunch wasn't a children's book, it was a comic strip in a British comic book called "The Beezer", The Beezer was one of the 4 successful titles next to The Topper, The Dandy, and The Beano,which was considered the best out of the 4 when The Topper and The Beezer died. Anyway The Beano, Dandy, Beezer, and Topper were made by D.C. Thompson Co. & Ltd.

In Joe Barbera's interview, he credited TERRY AND THE PIRATES as inspiration for Jonny Quest. Jonny Quest was cancelled because ABC had difficulty selling air time. "Over budgeted"??? Bill Hanna would never have allowed that. Hanna: "Faster, cheaper."

They also released The Roman Holidays. Trivia: The first ever cellphone to appear onscreen was on Flash Gordon in 1930s/40s film serial in 1939. Also I remember there were phones with telvision screens in early 90s capitalizing on success on ''the comunication era''(last stage of cold war late 80s / early 90s) but it was a flop by it's highly expensive prize.

Actually Cartoon Network years back actually made part of a flash pilot of a new variation of Wacky Races starring some of the children of the parents from the oriignal show. It never got past it's pilot stage but it did actually have 5 minutes of animation avaialble I think you can even find on youtube.

I remember nothing about the old Jonny Quest, but the new one I remembered, it was short, too bad. Was´t the Godzilla cartoon HB? Wacky racers a game? Got to look it up! If they should make it all justice than the curse should have a dosen ways and short cuts that´s specially for each one for the characters.
