Yes, you defenatly did helped to build Israel (with all the others all together), Any small contribute no matter how small, is very big! Being a volunteer is a very big contribute! We hope that Israel contributed to you too. Most of the voulunteers do get back alot more than they actually thought they are giving. I even know a german man, who was a voluntier at the 70's, he got so attached to his guest family, that he felt that the guest father was his real father, and I mean like he was for him the most important and more than his real father, who he broke with, being a Nazi, while the gust father was in critical situation, he left everything to visit his (step) father in Israel one last time. This volunteer became home class and a history teacher for 5'th-6th graders, and he tought them everything, including going arround their german city, showing arround, what, where, happend at the Nazi time... Some times contribution last much longer than the volunteering time ( and for both sides).

When I was a teen way back in the 70s, it was considered the coolest thing to go to Israel & work on a Kibbutz. Everyone wanted to do it, especially if you were young & hip & wanted to change the world and build something new.
