The history of the iconic 1982 TV show - I didn't plan on posting this video on both of my channels. It started out as just a straight up piece on the TV show but when I realized how many toys and especially video games were available It expanded more and more. I wanted This to reach as many people as possible. This is not going to be a regular occurrence I assure you. Enjoy the video and thank you for your cooperation.

I never knew William Daniels until I saw him in Boy Meets World in the 90’s and then I learned that he was the voice of K.I.T.T the car. Talk about moving on in the world of Hollywood from the 80’s to the 90’s. Thank you for doing this video as I am learning so much about this amazing show and the history behind it.

The reboot was expensive to produce and apparently the low ratings didn't justify continuing the show. When I was a kid my mom took me to a nearby shopping mall to see one of the touring KITTs. It had a recording playing in a loop saying "please don't ask me any questions as I am not programmed to respond" which was a polite way of not disappointing the kids who actually thought that it would talk back to them if they got inside for their photo.

Nice!.. One of the coolest shows from my childhood, Kitt was awesome. I saw David once in LA but didn’t get a pic. & I remember watching the show in Spanish back then haha.. & it was called “El Auto Fantástico”. Not sure why, cause it doesn’t translate literally. Never played any of the games but the PC engine game looks pretty good. Anyway cool episode. 👍

Funny how so many of the games load KITT up with weapons when I remember the show going out of its way to have Michael and KITT solving each mystery without using violence, kinda like MacGuyver. EDIT: Oh yeah, KITT also sorta appears in Burnout Paradise in one of the DLCs. It's not perfect but they include an all black car with the iconic scanner on front with sound effect.

My brother and I got to sit inside KITT at Universal Studios. Since we hadn't seen any new episodes in a while, my brother asked KITT if there were going to be any more episodes of Knight Rider. KITT told him that the show was on hiatus. So basically we found out the show was cancelled from KITT himself.

(I don't know who did his voice here; I'm assuming it wasn't the actual guy from the show but I don't remember noticing that he sounded different.) I still have my knight rider toys from the 80's.😁 Strange thou. I have tried watching the series today, and I can't seem to get into the show now like when I was a kid. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I definitely want to pick up the Knight Rider PS2 game. Even though it's gotten bad reviews the gameplay looks good on RU-vid. Also I met kitt at universal studios in 1983. 😁

I'm happy to somewhat defend the 2004 PC game. It faithfully recreates the TV show even with the off voice overs. As a Chase HQ ripoff it's absolutely fine. What frustrates me about this game is they had the tools (unfortunately not the money) to do this as a GTA style game with the Chase HQ elements for the driving sections. So close yet so far. 😥

I loved Knight Rider as a kid in the '80s. But now as an adult it's very hard for me to not notice the blatant continuity errors logic loops sloppy editing & plotholes in every episode. I can still enjoy it for what it was nostalgically but some of it really was laughably bad. My favorite KR "WTF?!?" moment was when KITT turbo boosted straight up and out of a car crusher at a 45 degree angle from a dead stop. Or when KITT had a suitcase bomb in the hatchback and calculated the only safe place to detonate it was 100 miles away from where they were in the parking garage and had only 10 minutes to get there somebody did the math and KITT would have had to average 300+ miles an hour to make it in time. Cue sped up overcranked footage to make it appear KITT was going way faster than it really was which was standard issue in 1970s and 1980s movies and TV shows.

"The Knight 2000 Voice Car! Sorry, we were too cheap to license any actual voice clips from the show." While I like Bonnie, I thought April was prettier. No, not because her chest was bigger, I like redheads. :) I loved the show, but the one thing that always bugged me was how when Michael drove into the back of the semi, you could see that KITT barely fit in, but once they switched to the inside set, they had tons of room. Yes, I know it's a TV show about a talking car, but stuff like that is a really obvious continuity problem. I mean, imagine if a TV show today showed someone pulling out an iPhone, but then the closeup of the screen showed a iPod.
