I always like the technique of lightning redirection and I like the zuko and iroh were the one who used it, the weakness of the technique is that if you're not probably concentrated or or is not in full control of it you will die from absorbing all the electricity all at once.

I was grateful it didn’t kill Zuko. As I recall Iroh said the worst thing that can happen, while redirecting it, was for any of it to pass through the heart. That’s what had happened to Zuko and why he wasn’t able to continue fighting since, from the looks of it, a large portion of the lighting ended up passing through his heart as he redirected it.

Well To Me She’s Not Truly Redirecting The Lightning, If You Look Closely At Her Fingers She Trying To Force It Back Or She’s Generating A New Bolt Of Lightning, Or She’s Trying To Shield Herself From The Lightning And Reflect It By Using More Bolts Of Lightning, Like Iroh Said In Bitter Work “A Firebending Move That Even Azula Doesn’t Know” And When Zuko Said She’s Gotten Strong Again She Probably Was Able To Create Another Lightning Strike Just Right Before Zuko Redirected That First One She Striked With

Iroh invented lightning redirection, okay. 👍🏻

I personally find Mako's redirection suspect, he doesn't preform the proper movements and he is known for being able to create weaker lightning with minimal movement (but still the same core movement of generation) very quickly, it could be that he generated lightning and because he was generating lightning and hence bending it the mech's lightning would be carried on with the new lightning Mako made. I'm not against Mako knowing Lightning Redirection but it's a hard to confirm feat with no confirmation from the show's creators, plus it's the only time in the show he would've done it, whilst it's a lot easier to believe that he generated new lightning because that is a confirmed feat of his and as shown when he destroyed Kuvira's Kuvira's Mech's power core lightning generation can rechannel and redirect lightning as we see him acting as a conduit of the lightning he generated and the power core shooting lightning back at him with that lightning being added to his own to make it more powerful.
