The History of Lol Airport World Records 

Join Beckoning Basil as he takes you on a journey through the history of League of Legends as seen through the eyes of the Airport Speedrunning community! All the times shown in this video are real, I recorded and compiled all of them myself, it took way too long.

And we have just witnessed history with Golden Guardians securing the any% run. Securing the airport run without even reaching worlds.

TSM 0-6 might not be the fastest but it's the shining example of an airport speedrun

This was an amazing parody. The idea is funny and the execution is great. I think the 0-6% category deserves a mention especially as it has gained more popularity among major region teams over the years.

Doublelift should get some love for his all-time speedrun contribution. He has done it all. From flashing into the Viktor, over saving his flash for next season, to the absolute highlight: Taking 2 turret shots during the laning phase and then die 15 seconds later.. Plus: This man hasn't made it out of groups since Season 1, participating in the Speedrun for 6 straight seasons from 2015 to 2020... What a legend.

This video is proof that good parody isn't about coming up with a silly idea, but taking that silly idea seriously. Really great stuff.

The TSM 0-6 run has to be the most legendary attempt just for the sake of also including the only recorded 9 man lillia ult that can be officially confirmed which many critics say cannot be replicated legitimately every again.

There was also the very difficult "triple run" category for major regions where you had to reach airport with all three of your teams in group stage. The first triple run with the 6 games format was achieved by EU at worlds 2014 when Fnatic, Alliance and the infamous SK Gaming all reached airport before quarterfinals. The next year, at Worlds 2015, NA had a rough first week (C9 3-0, CLG 2-1, TSM 1-2), but then in week 2 the NA teams achieved a miraculous 0-10 run to complete their first triple run. LPL almost achieved their own triple run on the very same year when LGD and IG both successfully dodged quarterfinals, but their MSI winning team EDG unfortunately faced two solid airport speedrunners in their own group : EU's H2k-Gaming and the 0-6 juggernaut Bangkok Titans. NA would later get several triple runs at Worlds 2019, 2020, and 2022 (barely missing the 2021 triple run because C9 won a tie-breaker against Rogue), cementing NA as the most dominant region in the triple run category.

GG definitely deserve a trophy for their epic 0-3 they just pulled off. After practising for months they made it happen like only an NA team could . o7

I think a honorable mention should go out to Gamania Bears in season 3, who were seeded directly into the quater finals. They lost 2-0 to SKT and achieved an incredible time of just over 1 hour.

And just this week NA's Golden Guardians have achieved history. Achieving the first sub 2 hour speedrun we've seen in 10 years. Eliminating themselves before Worlds has even begun. Truly something special

BDS claimed an incredibly convincing 1:37:39 to put them in the Swiss Stage world record spot with just less than an hour lead over Team Liquid.

EG Really should have been praised more for the innovative but risky strat of inducing a mental breakdown for your best player.

With the new change of rule in the cathegory GAM and BDS can be looking at world record with GAM already having two stunning splits with one at 24 and also a gold split at 22 keeping the minus 1 hour 10 hope alive

I was there when the TSM 10 man sleep was made. I cannot describe the discomfort I felt in that occasion. And to people who say it's a 9 man sleep because Lillia was playing, it wasn't because even that player fell asleep after the ultimate popped. They were all a mimir.
