The horniest mutant on earth, who's badassery can only be matched by Storm's (imho). It always killed me how she tossed Graydon away from being human, then tossed Nightcrawler away for being too inhuman, but absolutely refuses to this day to truly let Rogue go, even though she was merely adopted.

Mystique is an understandable villain. I understand her desire to survive. Her friendship with Destiny makes sense. Before this video, I just assumed the two were just old friends. I didn't know it went deeper than that.

Oh my gosh thank you so much! You're probably one of the only few channels that covered this character. I found it to be quite a shame that she isn't talked about seemingly enough, but that's why I really appreciate this video along with your channel. You really went in depth with her and even talked about all if not most of her time the comics and I haven't seen that anywhere else on RU-vid before lol. I've been a comic lover and collector for over 35 years. Videos like this take me back to when story was important over some hack political or social agenda. I will continue to watch these and maybe even go to a digital comic website to read some of the comics and series I don't have. Very Enlightening! In the movies, it appears that Rogue is the daughter of Mystique, but Rogue is adopted and Nightcrawler IS the son of Mystique. WOW!!! I love the X-MEN comic series, but I never knew this! I wonder if a new X-MEN/Origin movie will ever be made to show any of these events? And how about a movie with the X-MEN vs The Avengers?

The part of mystique giving birth to Kurt makes way more sense than his new origin of destiny being his mom and mystique his dad. There were actual people there who saw it so how the hell did they just change it out of the blue. Plus he looks just like Azazeal with the same power set. Now she is just mimicking his physiology to give birth. It just makes no damn sense.To me it sounds like they are trying too hard to be progressive and the original writer claims that this was what he wanted all along comes off as fake. Everything doesn't need a retcon.

If we ever get Mystique in the MCU, they should bring in Destiny. Destiny is a very interesting character in terms of her prophecy and how it’s used. In the short term, it looks like she’s doing some of the most heinous stuff eg working with Sinister in the 40’s. However, that work helped create his gene library, allowing him to use it on Krakoa. And she sees all possible futures. Legion didn’t kill her because she was in his way. He killed her because he looked into her mind and it terrified him.

The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants lineup with Destiny, Avalanche, Blob, Pyro, Mystique and Rogue is the one I remember the most when they teamed with ROM Spaceknight going up against the horror Dire Wraith called Hybrid. Mystique has always been an interesting character but she has many red in her ledger.

As well as the fact that whilst she gave birth to Nightcrawler, Mystique is closer to Rogue who she raised with Destiny. Claremont couldn’t outright say it back in the day and got it past censors by having Destiny look much older than Mystique despite them being the same age. Rogue only referred to Mystique as her mother during this time. However, when Destiny was temporarily resurrected in Necrosha, she finally called her Mom as well. It’s a very touching moment.

Mystique is pretty much a sociopath. She loves Nightcrawler only in the sense that he’s an extension of her. She was not present in his childhood. Meanwhile, Rogue is the daughter she took in and raised with Destiny. She was there whilst Rogue grew up. This makes Rogue an extension of her and Destiny. She literally tried to kill Captain Marvel because Destiny told her Carol would permanently damage Rogue. And in the 80’s, Rogue died during the Death of the X men storyline with Destiny dying soon after against Legion. Whilst Rogue was brought back and went into hiding soon after and Destiny knew her own death was necessary, this changed Raven.

Is Mystique similar to Wolverine since they existed during the earlier parts of history of the world and had children with different people like how the two of them had a child together known as Raze? Which one of her children do you think is the best?

I believe Irene Adler is a nod to ‘The Woman’ from the Sherlock Holmes case A Scandal in Bohemia.

Because Sherlock Holmes is in the public domain, she is the actual Irene Adler. Or at least a character they say the books are based on. With Mystique’s male alias that she married Irene as, Eric Raven, being a private detective at the time. Aka… Mystique might be Sherlock Holmes. And Steven Moffat is probably annoyed someone did sapphic Sherlock Holmes before him lol.
