only at the beginning of this video (about 2 minutes in) but wanted to ask about redundancy and backups and cross checking of data. while self driving vehicles are not as critical as a plane flying in the air with hundreds of passengers it seems that there should be some sort of redundancy and cross checking of data being done for safety?
@@One_Guy The driver takes over. The potential improvement is to send a few seconds of future commands to the panda, so even if openpilot crashes the driver has a decent amount of time to react
From my understanding openpilot sends information ahead of time, just like how a human driver will anticipate and prepare for a turn before actually initiating the turn. The car then receives that information and then carries it out. Features such as emergency braking are most likely sent through a low latency path and open pilot has no input for this and it’s just on the car. Just think of open pilot as an enhanced auto cruise control with lane tracing for right now. My guess is that also when open pilot sees no lines or semblance of a road, open pilot probably will disengage and provide an error alert
Wish I could add support for a car I have access to, but it is like 2 years too old to have the ACC and electric steering standard. Edit: Is it possible to share to a web "app"? Would be nice to be able to share from a website directly to the comma via Android's share UI.
comma three same as comma two just use three camera compare to one camera , the software is same then the experience not change customers want new option which will available in my kit MVP
