Hey dude I think you forgot about Paulet, who was the first one to propose the idea of a liquid fuel spacecraft as well as making blueprints for it

@WL-FACTS Yeah, but I was talking about the idea of a liquid fueled spacecraft, not any other type of rocket. Paulet was the first one to propose that. But cool fact nevertheless

Von Braun said, Well, of course, we learned the principles from your Dr. Goddard. The V2 rocket is essentially the same thing he sent up in 1939. Who? the Army said. "The Man Who Launched the Space Age. By Michael Kernan. September 19, 1982.Washington Post" You missed Dr.Goddard's significance like the Army did in 1940s. Though I enjoyed the first part of your story.

@@CarlosAM1 From what I remember from the film "Apollo 11", they got to the moon 4 minutes ahead of schedule. That in turn, also put the Lunar Lander ahead; so they where flying over Landmarks sooner then expected. It wasn't that the Lander itself was traveling faster than planed, which is what the narrator inaccurately suggested.

The low fuel was not pre-mature. They knew exactly how much fuel they had. the "auto pilot" so to speak, was going to land them in a boulder field because of them being ahead of schedule and overshooting the planned sight. Armstrong had to take manual control to fly the lander over the boulder field and a crater to a safer spot. That took more time and fuel. With only about 15 seconds of fuel left, Armstrong landed it so softly that the struts did not collapse completely, that is why it was such a jump for the men from the ladder to the lander foot.

Yeah this is by no means an exhaustive list. He was definitely one of the fathers of rocket science, but didn’t seem to have an achievement besides educating von Braun worth pointing to in such a short video. Especially since it focuses mostly on the mechanical side. If I ever made a video on physics or orbital mechanics, the oberth effect would be perfect
