Exploring concepts in science and engineering in as an approachable way as I can manage. From robots to rocketry, I try to find projects to embody interesting aspects of STEM fields of study.
You can improve a lot the efficiency of the turbine by making it spin faster, this is because the smaller a turbine is the faster it needs to spin to have high efficiencies. (you can guess the optimal speed by looking at the Balje diagram for turbines and adimensional theory of fluid machines)
Heya, not sure if you will see this but I just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to do this! I recently also got some pretty beautiful shock diamonds and learnt new things while calculating the nozzle, gonna go give the aerospike a shot now!
I used to mess around with burning rubbing alcohol when I was 12. The only incident I had was that I accidentally made a rocket similar to the no cap one in the video, and burnt my fingers trying to light with a match stick.
Are you using a barske? I reccomend reading Centrifugal Pumps: Design and Analysis Ch.11. Keep in mind you are reading shutoff head with your static pressure test, your pressure will drop woth more flow rate.
FINALLY, Someone genuinely dedicated to the promulgation of science and scientific endeavors. It's easy to tell this is a great channel when the narrator uses scientific adjectives like 'goopey'. I'm now a fan
how is that even the owner will shoot him too? or there's some code that when the system detects it's the owner the system will not shoot him/her owner? can someone enlightened me?
more even air injection. more axial air injection? try not to have a stagnation point on the wall as it blows away the film and creates a local hot spot by making the area burn lean.
What? Not releasing files cause you think they are too dangerous, but showing them in detail in a video, making pyro-people wet their pants, that's okay? For real bro? You don't think showing a video of how you can easy make a mini flamethrower is enough to make them think "google is my friend"?....
you should get a check valve for the fuel side, but thats basically what an injector is, but could allow for the pressure to first build up, before opening up, and releasing your desired fuel pressure, and then no need to have to mess around optimizing turbo pump, and especially to after you said you have like 150ft of tubing to play with. You can get that punch with out having the length.
One idea that works is to hook the air compressor to a soda bottle than can withstand high pressure. Then you have a different hose which pumps the fuel out. Basically you pump 80psi air in which pushes fuel out of the bottle at 80psi. You will need another compressor, though ive tested this with cheap tyre air compressors and it works. Its the same principle as fuel pumps, which cause a high pressure in the fuel tank which forces the liquid out of the tank through a hose
