9:17 While that's 200% true about the mainline Sonic.exe content you'll find nowadays, there's been a pretty thriving Sonic.exe community constantly sharing fan games, sprites, animations, characters, etc. etc. all mainly based on the simple idea of reworking the original story into something actually worth someone's time. Some pretty cool retellings/remakes/etc. I'd like to point out are Lord X (Sonic PC port), Sonic.EYX (also known as Sonic editable rom) and hands down the best remake of the original game, Sonic.exe: One last round by Mr Pixel Productions.

More Info about Sonic.EXE: He has a new owner and goes by the name Xenophanes, he also has a new design that was shown in the fnf mod (specifically the song Triple Trouble) also there’s a retelling called “Sonic PC Port” which is pretty good game (although it’s a demo) with a different character named “Lord X” who also appears in the mod, speaking of which I think either the mod or the port kickstarted a new genre of Sonic OCs
