Seeing the word god being censored is always funny to me especially because if your offended by walter white saying god danm well he has done way worse things like its not even a competition. Plus I dont think its controversial to say most modern christians dont care. I have a freind she is a lot more religous than me and she would agree its dumb. A lot of cencorship does come down to not offending the 3 people who wont even buy their products anyways.
It's possible that some AMC higher ups gave the showrunners the guidelines of "one f-word per season", the showrunners obliged for s2, and going forward they tried to be more bold and try to sneak more past the AMC censors (and succeeding)

That's always been the standard in America, because an ass is a donkey (as opposed to an arse, like how the rest of the world spells it). You can say ass but not asshole, and you can say damn but not goddamn, even though technically damn is the swear. America is still as puritanical as ever. I'm so glad HBO never pulled this shit.
I watched the first airing of El Camino on AMC and they did indeed air it uncensored but with the standard warning that it was to preserve the filmmaker's original vision or something like that.

I love the breaking bad previously on segments, they feel like they shouldn't exist yet they do. So bizarre I adore them. On the topic of them in general, these can provide legitimate spoilers, such as with fly hinting at Jane's death. I think a game of thrones episode once had its entire plot spoiled simply because someone got the previously on leaked. Something similar happened to me on the show Mr. Robot, where a previously on segment would sometimes indicate what was going to happen, it actually made it more hype though because it was a part of the show I cared about. 17:35 14 year olds could and should watch breaking bad. I say this because I was also 14 when I first watched it of course. 22:11 very random reference that this reminded me of but I've been watching Six Feet Under (HBO show) for the first time and I've always appreciated how in that show the characters will sometimes mention other HBO shows and say they're going to watch them, as if the TV network exists exactly as it was in universe just without y'know, six feet under airing. In BrBa Having them watch a censored version of Scarface on the television to mock AMC is almost certainly not what they were going for, but it's a genius idea. Honestly kinda W to mute instead of using the Bleep™, not only it helps with the tone of the show but there are a lot of people that find the Bleep™ to be too high-pitched and uncomfortable to listen to
Maybe it's just me... But the beep immediately rips me out of the moment, hurts my ears, and ruins any suspense... The mute actually adds a bit of punch for me, makes it even more dramatic
with the "chingada" point, it's more of a general negative thing you say in Spanish, with the most common translation being the f word. it doesn't translate well over to English, but Hectors "a la chingada con Bolsa, con Eladio," etc., would be similar to someone saying "to hell with Bolsa, with Eladio, and with you," where you only say "to hell" once but can be applied to multiple people. I think the writers chose to translate it as they did in the show since Hector prefaced every name with "con" (which means "with" in Spanish) for a better reading experience.

This kind of reminds me of how in the russian dub of TADC when they're doing the whole swears censoring cartoon sfx bit you can totally hear what each of the words is because for some reason they only cut out small segments from the middle of each one, leaving the beginning and end perfectly audible so you can easily fill in the blanks in your head. That audio track is on the official upload btw, just raw, barely censored cs:go vc type shit out in plain sight, it's incredible xD

38:40 Primes RU-vid channel censored the naughty words in their upload of a song from Hazbin Hotel which kinda completely ruined the best part of it, although that was a scene, not technically a music video (or sing along as they call it) like other songs they uploaded. No idea if this info is remotely useful.
I can tell you that all the F-bombs in bcs season 4 were uncensored. I only started watching BCS as it was airing when season 4 premiered, and I was only vaguely aware that there were “censored versions” of both shows. So when season 4 aired, it was business as usual for me! And I can also tell you I specifically remember the “fucking Salamancas” line. The funniest part is I had no idea the first three seasons were dipped until this video!

I can think of two examples of tv dramas that used censored curse words. 1. Southland, a gritty LA cop drama, used bleeps. The show’s history is complicated as it started out on NBC and many words were bleeped (shit, fuck, asshole). Then it got moved to the cable channel TNT where most words were uncensored but “fuck” was still bleeped. Also interesting is that the DVD releases for the show advertised being “uncensored,” and the show is also uncensored if you watch it on streaming. 2. John Ridley’s show “American Crime” (not to be confused with American Crime Story) was an anthology character-driven crime drama that ran on ABC for three seasons and had characters say words like fuck and shit. It had a very unusual way of censoring itself, basically having the screen go black for half a second whenever someone swore. If you watch American Crime on Amazon or RU-vid now, the show still censors the swears with the audio muting but the screen doesn’t go black, which is honestly an improvement from how it originally aired.
Hell yes. After seeing this comment, I looked up a clip detailing exactly what you said. Still looking at American Crime cuz most of the stuff on RU-vid seems to just be trailers. There are probably some reviews of the show online discussing the way it censors curses. Unfortunately it seems the only way to watch the show now is by purchasing episodes on RU-vid or Amazon (which like I said, now just mute the swears instead of blacking out the screen). Interestingly, I just realized that Regina King starred in both Southland and American Crime. One Southland clip on RU-vid that demonstrates the bleeps really well is called “SouthLand - Cooper's Tattoo Shop Scene” It appears that the clip is now unlisted but if you search Southland clips, you’ll find the video in a playlist called “Best of Southland”
As a conservative Christian I watched it on Netflix like a man. Because a man provides prestige television for himself regardless of the swears or the nudities. (Or because it’s the most convenient place to watch the show)

it's possible that the 1 F per season was put in place after season 1 but was only in effect for season 2 and after they were given permission to use more within an updated limit. or they forgot about it entirely.
It's got to be meant like "roughly" 1 per year as a guideline that was maybe even loosened as time went on and the executives started to get the show, enjoy it, and comprehend its cultural caché

Saying this is the history of the f word in universe means it’s canon to the story of the show, what you mean is the history of the f word from a production standpoint
The sense I get is that he's sort of just using a canned phrase to get the idea across quickly when speaking to the public, just cuz it's a fun little thing to say that gets the idea across. Saying "we get 1 a year" just includes a little more storytelling than rewording "the network wants to restrict the amount of times we use the f word" a million times.

I think what's happening here is they got a note from AMC to limit Fucks to one per season, but he obviously didn't like that and fought for further fucks whenever he could. The weirdness here imo is the mythologizing of it that the crew did I don't think Gilligan is really a fuck-fiend but he does seem like a big proponent of naturalistic dialogue.
The contrast of the subject matter and your second-grader outfit + severe case of babyface adds an extra layer of comedy that _e n h a n c e s_ my viewing experience. (This is not a bad thing lol)
Maybe the recording you had were rebroadcasts or aired in a different country or something, because I watched the episodes air live and a number of the ones you count as "censored" _absolutely_ were not. I never watched them on Netflix so I doubt I'm confusing it with that. The dinner with Gretchen, "I'm ASAC Schraeder", the written one, Mike's one, Skyler's, Huell, and a few others just off the tip of my head aired uncensored and un "dipped".
