Wave Race was my favorite. Beetle adventure racing and Starfox get honorable mentions. F-Zero really needs a comeback on the switch IMO. I gotta say, though, that the filter they used that caused blurry graphics in a lot of the games made the N64 hard for me to love sometimes. It was like your television screen was covered with vaseline. I would have preferred jagged graphics over that.
@@themidcentrist Wave Race 64 is in my top 3 N64 games for sure, Starfox is probably another come to think of it. There's rumours that a remaster of F Zero X is coming to the Switch at some point, not sure if it will though given that it's available on NSO. Going back to it recently I found that the cable you use makes a ton of difference. I went from an RF cable, which looks awful to a decent component and it made a whole world of difference. It still is kind of 'smoothed' over though, and it can be hard to adjust on OG hardware.
@@geoffgero6081 SotE is underrated. I'm glad it got a Steam release so it's still relatively accessible. It'd be nice to see it come to NSO, not sure it will though since the mouse revoked its canon status.
As I only played them by rear replay my only rale exopisen with the N64 was over eumaultion as I passed up the 32 and 64 Bit systems. See I moved form NES/DOS to SNES/DOS right to Windows 95. Their for Banjo-Kazooie, Killer Instinct Gold, Conker's Bad Fur Day and Banjo-Tooie where the only N64 games I ever played. By fav of them is Conker's Bad Fur Day. The one I wound love Nintendo to re reless is the F-Zero X game with the add-on pack but not on the switch; The MAC.
This is absolutely amazing quality, well done. The first game i ever played was when i was 4 in 2005 it was DK64 on my cousins teal N64. For that reason its my favourite

Thanks. It's something I'm working on. I've got to change up how I speak quite a bit to make my accent understandable and I feel like I lose a bit of my humanity every time lol.
Super Mario 64 was my favorite N64 game and I still think it's the best 3D platformer of all time. It's aged really well, both in game play and graphics. The PC version I have on my computer looks especially nice.
Good historical review. It's pretty by the book but I love the N64, so I am open to any new takes on it. Word for the wise on your presentation though! I live in Newfoundland, and english speaking island province in the Atlantic ocean off of Canada, They speak with different slag and dialects every 100km to each out port town out side of the main city of St. John's. I understood your whole review just fine. But man, you talk really fast, and with your accent, you might have trouble with other people understanding what you're saying, I'd try to slow it down a bit.
Woudl you believe it, but this is me slowing down quite a bit already! But yeah, my accent can be pretty inpenetrable sometimes so I'm always working on getting my audio presentation better. Doesn't help that I was getting over a cold when I did this too.
The only and 1 thing i found really dimb from nintendo is why they created a diskdrive for the N64 as it quickly became obsolete just like the famicom disksystem and also why it was released soooo late?? What nintendo should,ve done was to come with a CD addon for the N64 instead to remedy that problem wich game developers faced with the N64,nintendo could,ve go for a fast CD-rom drive along with a caddy case on it with a lockout chip builtin to remedy piracy,so they could,ve solved 4 problems atonce,attracting game developers,solve load time issues,piracy issues and the limited but expensive storage capacity of cartrides.
@@VGArchives_ definitely, well ahead of its time with an immersive story and extensive multiplayer options. It’s a a good console, best of its generation. Even though the ps1 sold much better.

@@gorgonflabish I have a bit of an accent too, so I try to make an effort to slow things down to make things more understandable. I need to get around to doing proper subtitles at some point as well, rather than relying on the auto-generated ones. Always trying to improve!
