The History of Trunks! Dragon Ball Z Abridged Reaction 

Four Star used several OSTs from the "Doctor Who" series, for Trunks. (For example, music that played, when Trunks found Gohan's body, called "Doomsday"), and his time machine makes Tardis' noises when it disappears. And that outro are also straight from Doctor Who.

Monty Oum started out as a machinima animator, his early videos becoming viral hits that caught the eyes of the Red Vs Blue production team. He was invited on and was lead animator for many seasons, showcasing impressive 3D fight sequences and fan-recognised animation flow. He was greenlit by RoosterTeeth to produce his story concept he had been working away at and it premiered to critical acclaim, RWBY. He was director and animator for three seasons, though ultimately he passed away halfway through season 3. Complication brought about in surgery caused his death The RT crew, who he worked with on other shows and podcasts, tried to keep his creation alive. While some argue that after season 3 the magic was lost and the animation lacked that logical flow (eg. a character would use the recoil of a gun to propel themselves around the fight at high speed and use the recoil to change momentum). What can't be denied is the heights the series reached. Two spin off shows, a comic, manga, anime, collab with DC Comics and animated DC movie with the Justice League, video games, BlazBlue crossover. He is fondly remembered in the youtube community in various videos dedicated to his memory and for his pioneering spirit. His success with RWBY can be argued as the show that walked so other shows like Hazbin Hotel, Murder Drones or Lackadaisy could run. I dunno if you've ever seen The Princess Bride, but with a couple of altered words this scene reminds me of a quote from that movie: "Do you hear that? That is the sound of ultimate suffering. My heart made that sound when I learned my father had died." And just like that, I'm always brought back to that August day in 2019 when I basically woke up to my phone ringing with the news. I get goosebumps, I get shivers, I feel tears well up. All because KaiserNeko, the TFS voice of Trunks, gave an unbelievable performance here. He absolutely captured that unfathomably deep feeling of loss, like something has been scooped out of you. And he did so with perfect fidelity.

Just so you know, that amazing music we hear during Gohan's death and Trunks going SSJ is called Doomsday by Murray Gold, originally used for Doctor Who, a shkw about a time traveller

At no time in this alt/future timeline do we see Gohan ever try to contact King Kai and just get the coordinates for New Namek, or even Yardrat if it happens to be closer. Go there, learn I.T, teleport to N.N, Dragon-up the Dragon Balls get Picollo, Kami and Vegeta back, Gohan and Geets take Trunks into the Time Chamber for max time, come back and jump the Cyborgs. But no, Saiyans are never really shown to be super deep thinkers.

Others here have talked about him but Monty Oum was an amazingly talented creator and most (all?) of his early work was created alone. Self-taught too, IIRC. I suggest checking out his work, on or off the channel. Really fun, creative fights and several videos were early viral hits, like Haloid and Dead Fantasy. A playlist with the main videos and leading into RWBY is titled "The Monty Oum Collection" and put together by Soarel. (Not sure if links are fine.) It's missing the early ROAD videos but otherwise solid.

Monty Oum was one of the geniuses of our time; he is of our age and generation, Alex. I encourage you to to back and watch his Haliod and Fighting Videos from way back when. He was meticulous and instrumental in pushing fighting animations and being all around good person. Red vs. Blue was good, but it was GREAT under him leading scenes; go back and watch the Redemption arcs. We lament his passing even to this day.

To try and delicately phrase it with minimal spoilers, your question about Trunks taking passengers has a short and a long answer, both are explored but not until Super.

Also surprised to notice dragonball super took something from this story. And you will get your question about returning to the world answered later. What trunks does and where he goes. It will make as much sense as time travel can. Lol

That friend of yours was talking about Dragon Ball [Z] Kai vs Dragon Ball Z--specifically with how Kai is Z with less--yet still with *some*--filler but also dubbed more faithfully, whereas Z was dubbed with script liberties and music changes as the original score by Shunsuke Kikuchi was replaced with music from the Bruce Faulconer team (they made some good iconic tunes but overall for me, ehhh). I personally think people who look at Kai and say "it was done better in Z," occasional cases as there may be, are often looking through nostalgia glasses, since Kai was intentionally dubbed by the FUNi team to make up for that edited dub by being much more accurate to the source material--I'm pretty sure the dubbing team (folks like Chris Sabat [voice director/Vegeta's VA] come to mind) even wants it to supersede the Z dub *because* Kai's dub is more accurate. Not to mention the years of VA experience the cast now has, since Sabat's Vegeta's voice for example is leagues beyond where it was in Z, and Schemmel plays a much better Goku. Kai's how I tell folks to watch DBZ nowadays (but bonus points if you dig up the DB Kai Recut fan project which removes more of the filler). Pretty good reaction, and KaiserNeko as Trunks during the transformation scene always gives me chills; hard to think he still thinks he wasn't the best choice to play him. Also, love that you caught the easter egg with Vegeta's spacetime-breaking scream (a shame when other reactors don't), but another one you missed is the tell that the Piccolo we were hearing here actually wasn't real: he pronounced his Makankosappo (dubbed as "Special Beam Cannon") attack's name correctly, which he never does in-series, haha.

No. Because the pod is only big enough for one Cell larva. Also it’s about the person, not the ship. So they would go to their future, while Trunks would go to his past, which is the future for the dead Z warriors. That’s how string theory works.
