Agree. He holds the ball too long and tries to do too much on his own, often neglecting the faster support that have a better chance of capitalising on the break.

@@nisithafernando8420 He's turning 29 this year, that's not young it's prime age. Duane at 28/29 was an absolute monster. I'm not saying he's bad, just not nearly as good. If Roos can control his discipline I think he has a much higher ceiling

@@jonnybaynham1689 Sure, but Morné du Plessis is the archetype. Verneulen was the perfect blend of power and skill. I wouldn’t pick Jasper but Rassie knows more about rugby than I do, so I must be wrong…

@@jacqloock He generates front-foot ball which with how good int. defenses are now is very tough. He's got that dog in him too which they love. I doubt he'll ever have the skillset Vermeulen had but in terms of having a durable, hardworking, and ferocious player there's not many better than Jasper.

@@skibbitybopmdada I have to agree with @jacqloock, I would not select him. Great player that he is and much as we get front foot ball, that front foot ball should be him offloading to one of the speedsters on his shoulder and not going to ground with the ball. When you make the break like that you want to get it to a finisher and not go to ground - pop it to a KLA, Willemse or Chessie and you have an excellent chance at a 7 pointer, go to ground and you give the opposition a couple of seconds to re-group and with what you said about int. defence, that is all they need. As a Stormers fan, I would not select Roos either because his discipline is woeful, so for my money, I would select Francke Horn from the Lions. 24 years old and playing like an absolute beast. Strong when he needs to be, fast when he needs to be, but seems to be an all round intelligent player who connects well with forwards and backs alike. Elrigh Louw is also in the mix but I don't know what Dyamani has to do for a call up - that may be my Stormers bias showing but I think he is brilliant.
