He was amazing. I actually think he would have been amazing in the Original LOTR too though, if he'd been at that point in his career. I'd even put him forward as Aragorn. If they ever do the Silmarilllion or any stories from it, I think he'd make an excellent Beren or Hurin as well.
Since The Hobbit movies came out,I was shocked from two characters:Smaug(The Last great Firedrake of the Third Age)and Thorin Oakenshield(King Under the Mountain,Son of Thrain son of Thror.A true legend.A true King.A friend.A fighter.A protector.A leader.)I just couldn't believe that an actor could ever play Thorin so well.Thorin wasn't just a fictional character for me.He inspired me and supported me through his words and his deeds. And at the end....I just...broke.Seeing Thorin die was like loosing a real friend of mine.Long Live the King Under the Mountain,Thorin, son of Thrain, son of Thror!Long live Thorin Oakenshield..
You have to under stand, when Tolkien wrote The Hobbit he was fresh from the trenches of world war one, he new loss and suffering, he knew the loss of a home, and he put that into Thorin, and that's why Thorin is one of the greatest characters in Middle Earth. Great job on this video.
The one thing that people always miss is that there is a chance of redemption for Thorin it is so sad that people think he is a jerk but in reality he just wanted love and that is what all of Richard Armitage characters want the most you can see it in their eyes. I would have followed him one last time
I remember seeing the Battle of the Five Armies in theaters. His death was so upsetting cause I wanted Thorin to live on as king. One of my fav Middle Earth characters! Great tribute to an Amazing Hero! King section of this tribute has to be the best part of it!!!
Thorin: *I'll have taken back what you stole.* *This is not your Kingdom.* *These are Dwarf Lands* *This is Dwarf Gold.* *And we will have, our revenge.*
@@angelmarie6337 I'm not sure Thorin could have resisted the tempation of the One Ring, TBH. Few could. However, I do like to think of Erebor as acting as a sort of buffer against Mordor, at least for a time.
Honestly this is truly the best edit I have seen of hobbit entirely. I was in tears at the end of this video. Man, I truly have no words. You need to do more meaningful edits, don’t waste your talents on frivolous marvel things. I truly admire your skill
I am crying! I felt so deeply for Thorin even though the elves are my favorite. I've just always felt so sorry for him and was devastated when he died.
This is so beautiful. I have no words. The King of Carven Stone has indeed passed on into legend. I feel so heartbroken always at his death but this kind of video shows that he died with purpose, he took back Erebor like he planned, he gave Dwarves a home again. I know he’s just a fictional character but it feels so raw and real every time I watch BOTFA, it hurts “because it was real” as Thranduil said.
I'm currently painting a picture from the Hobbit, and have had this on a loop, it's literally the perfect video to paint to! Love it with my entire heart!
This is superb in every sense. The ending especially brought tears to my eyes. Fantastic, complex, layered character - and a video that showcases that with such excellence!
This is the highest quality edit I have seen on the hobbit everything is perfect the timing sound and the scenes you play. Great work mate going into my playlist
I cried when I saw his death on screen despite knowing it was going to happen. I think when he died so did the time of the dwarves as if he had of lived I strongly believe the dwarves would not have died out in the 4th era as the symbol of the heart under the mountain would have been present for all dwarves. Long live one of the few kings in a movie anyone would follow into battle (Aragornand Theodin)
Watching this vid spoiled any other Thorin Oakenshield vids for me lmao. Thorin is captured so beautifully, how can I not put into loop? Hands off for the awesome editing, for capturing the second greatest legend of the dwarrows so perfectly.
An absolutely marvelous Tribute video. Great music, perfect scene and dialogue mash-up, you, sir or madam, have truly outdone all I have seen for Thorin so far. Idmi di dûm, Thorin Thrainul, Uzbad Ereboru
Whaat I find is sadder about all of this from this dwarves point of view is that even after all this, the journey to try and retake Moria back ended in death and disaster, so while now earlier in his life balin is completely unaware of the dark doom that awaits that company in the depths. That would end in vein.
You know the ending that he and his two nephews have, but despite everything I still had hope that it would somehow turn out differently That's what makes these films so special for me and I love his performance Thorin Oakenshield, son of Thrain, son of Thror Long live the king under the mountain - The King of Erebor
This was amazing! well done! :) I was a plan to do a video about Bilbo Baggins, but I didn't have enough inspiration to do it, and when I saw your video I'm excited right now to work on it! so thank you for that, mate!
This is a beautiful edit! What's always bothered me is that Thorin could have lived had he made a different decision. You can't see it in this edit, but the orc was standing spread eagled over him as he lay on the ground. All he needed to do was kick him in the groin, and he could have lived. It's not even a unfair cheap shot, as the orc cheap shot him first when stabbing his foot.
Thorin Oakenshield ,so beautifully enacted by Richard Armitage. He got maddened by the glittering gold but finally overcame it to fight the Orcs and die killing the Orc leader.
Thanks a lot 😊 Yes ! I'm taking a little break right now, but they'll definitely be more LOTR and Hobbit videos ! There's some characters I want to work on
So sad that it had to end, then again, nothing at all truly lasts forever. But Tolkien's story-writing in unmatched, and it pains me even telling myself it's fictional. Literally cry everytime i see his death, how can a fictional thing make me feel such things? Is it that my feelings are fictional as well?
I love the edit on the arrow shot. The one in the book was exactly like that. There was no need for this over-complicated nonsense they've put together. (Not forgetting the kid would have been beheaded by the rope in the process.) This shot felt right. Just seeing an arrow fly true towards its target, inevitably reaching its destination.
