Fascinating stuff. Really wish these places were preserved. These would have been great for the tourist industry, which is in the near future for St. Thomas. Continue to uncover the hidden history of Jamaica.

Do you know how these estate homes were destroyed and who owns these abandoned land. Does the government own them now.

Time and the elements destroyed these buildings. The properties are owned by the Jamaican people, because reparations were paid to the oppressors upon emancipation. Many of the Jamaican people who migrated to Britain, and those in Jamaica prior to independence who paid taxes, paid into the funds financing reparations to the oppressors.
