I gave the video a chance despite not liking the title. Such a title would not be relevant 10 or 20 years ago. It isn't contrary to popular belief that the owners have Chinese ancestry as this is widely known by anyone who is Jamaican. Juici Patties is Jamaican owned, not Chinese owned. Jamaicans don't look at race first. The owners are Jamaican like any other Jamaican and that's intrinsically Jamaican culture. I like both Juici and Tastee. The business model of Juici definitely impacted Tastee as Tastee was primarily in the capital and Montego Bay and wasn't accessible to all Jamaicans. Juici came in and went to every corner of Jamaica and so many Jamaicans acquired the Juici taste which impacted Tastee when they were ready to expand. An example of this is Ocho Rios with atleast three Juici stores in a quarter mile radius and these stores are always full compared to Tastee store which entered the Ocho Rios market late. This dynamic is what is fascinating between to two business models. Tastee squandered an opportunity by not expanding when they were the primary patty shop in the country. Please be careful on how you focus on race when it comes to Jamaica. We do not want to be like our neighbors up north. Being Jamaican is what binds us.

Imagine you could only take the equivalent of 50 dollars US a year to carry out of the country, effectively imprisoning the entire population on the island except for the well connected. Imagine, you couldn't even eat the national dish because the gov, banned the importation of cod han di people tun tuh, turned corn han chicken back. I believe that Barbados must be one of the few places in the world that McDonalds experienced failure, and now Jamaica. The problem they had here was in the prices they charged. It was almost like what you would expect to pay in a fine dining restaurant while all you got was a bun of in a box with some fried minced meat.

I am pleased the prime minister came to see the damage I pray that he will give some money to all communities in Jamaica however all Communities should put together and clean up the country especially the ones who hasn't got a job just cleaning up and make it look good thank god that there was not many life lost their in Jamaica
My heart 💔 just beat faster than normal when I am seeing the devastation of of people's homes. It's now a time of Prayer's for God grace and mercies for it not to be worse including more lost of life's. I'm hoping there will be some form of helps across the Country for those who are in urgent needs.

Jamaica is a place I'd love to visit if i ever have enough coin. It's where my Favourite music comes from SKA AND REGGAE. One of the most humble beautiful people I've met was a guy who you might have heard of STRANGER COLE before and after the gig we talked and talked it was unreal to meet one of my musical heroes and he was such a nice man who gave me one of the best things you can give TIME!
