You forgot to mention Sargo fish, they absolutely love ghost shrimps, and mussels too, I catch them in the San Diego Bay, mission bay and jetties.

I guess I’ll have to go digging for worms. I’ve tried every trick I know at Cabrillo pier and never caught a keeper.

You should be able to get some flatfish at Cabrillo on worms and if you throw 'em out by the rocks you should be able to get some bass (usually sand bass), perch (especially white seaperch and blackperch), as well as an occasional kelpfish.

Ken, did you say why Lugworms are not as good Bloodworms or did I miss it?

I don't believe the lugworms last quite as well as bloodworms. Sometimes, they are not as fresh and if you get those they will sometimes break apart too easily.
