Finally someone who gets it, the 8th gen civic is criminally underrated. It was the first in the Si/Type R line to come with K series engines, has a ton of aftermarket support, and it just straight up looks nice and simple. Probably the first car that comes to mind when I think sleeper.
I own a rallye red 8th gen SI coupe and to be honest the styling has grown on me so much. I originally didn't like the roundness but owning one has made me love it! I think when they're modded tastefully they can look really good :) Great tier list man!
Totally agree. I got an 08 Si coupe and once I put some Enkeii wheels and Yonaka Exhaust I fell in love with the looks. They’re starting to become collectible and go up in price.
In Canada, the 7th gen civic had an "older brother" called the "Acura EL" which still had the interior of the 7th gen civic but looks much better. The EL offered a better driving experience (similar-ish to an RSX) with better sound insulation, improved interior materials, and additional luxury features like leather seats, wood-grain accents, and a higher-end audio system. The suspension tuning on the EL provided a more comfortable and smoother ride, while the steering was generally more responsive, but I think the exterior looks the best, especially with the aero package (side skirts, front and rear lip, and rear spoiler) in 2005. I'm wondering how you think of those looks and where you'd put them on this list.
Marky it’s been like a weak my man. I was on a vacation to taxes but vary happy I got some videos to watch tomorrow. And congratulations on your new foal time jobbbb yesssss!!
I personally like the 7nth gen Honda Civic sedan's looks and want it as my first and little project car. I'd go for the 6th gen, but I know using it as a daily won't be the best idea because they do get stolen. Either that car, or a 6th gen Honda Accord coupe.
I have 2 potential series idea: Cars That Share the Same Chassis\Engine or Chasis Alternatives (alternatives to the s chasis, mk 3 supra chasis, any honda chasis you'd want to talk about, rx7 fd chasis, or toyota ae86 chasis, etc)
back in the day there were a lot of people crying about the electronic throttle on the 8th gen but i really can’t remember any good criticisms. Third gear could develop a grind? it has a k20 and the R18 was great too. the r18 was the best base engine in a civic at that point by far
When I first saw the 11th gen Civic revealed, I also thought the styling went a step back on the 10th gen. However, while I still think in some areas that's true, the more I see them in person, the more I'm warming up to the design and it's grown on me quite a lot. I'm excited to see how the Type R turns out.
EGs claim to get 45-55 mpg, that's crazy for a 1.5 SOHC D series. Gotta be partially do to the rounded more aerodynamic shape. Still double wishbone suspension too, could been even lighter with Macpherson strut that came in gen 7.
So I just found this channel and don’t know a damn thing about modifying cars but I really want to make it a hobby and learn. Any advice on getting started? I know how to change oil and change a tire but that’s about it lol.
Been watching Mark for almost two years now, he really has shown me alot of cool cars, I actually love the new series he is doing, so if you want to learn about just cars not really modding, I would stick to this, he does go over how easy modifications are on each car though, super helpful
@@asoc2902 hey thanks man I appreciate that, and to add to that, if you want to learn about car parts and how they work, donut media or Chris fix it on RU-vid are both good choices!
Donut Media, Fitment industries, ideal cars we also want viewers of Marks channel to be looking linked with this bigger channels by watching them after watching Mark's content....that will help Mark in the algorithm and give you information also try bladed angel.
eg>ek. Every ek owners wish they can find a clean eg. Only good thing about the ek is that it's the first civic to wear the type R badge but eg still better at everything over the ek like drag racing, track racing. Personally, I think the eg looks nicer way rarer then the ek now a days.
I love the body styles and looks of all the civics from 3rd gen to 11th gen they all look like dope street racers and I loved all SI and type R and type S
The 10th gen civic coupe (2 door) is just so well balanced design wise. I love the fast-back roofline. Sadly since I cant fit in one comfortably I bought the 2020 Sonata (I know, wierd digression lol).
I really dont get why you like the civic so much… Its FWD, low HP (Yeah I know you can tune it, but 90% of the other cars you can do the same), don’t really look nice. So the only reason: its cheap ?
I own a 97 GST Eclipse and I actually have more fun in 95 Civic They're fun because they're so light and are like go karts I really don't get why everyone thinks you need high hp and V8s to have fun in a car?
FWD is more forgiving on the track and for beginners and in general since the rear of the car is less likely to spin and turn the car sideways(drift). I do have the outmost respect for RWD drivers though since it takes More skill. Also Based on my research in a FWD car if the car goes sideways you can accelerate and the car will naturally straighten out because the front wheels are pulling the car. Of course there are Cons to FWD as well but using the right technique any car can be effective. 4th 5th and 6th gen had double wishbone suspension which make them handle very well. Check out Jordon Cox EG6 vs AE86 to see a good showdown between the two platforms. Initial D episodes with civics (shingo) will give good commentary on they're advantages.
EG is S for me. They look amazing in all 3 body styles, sedan, coupe and hatch. The EK sedan looks ugly, even with the 99 ViRS kit. The hatch and coupes however are S tier
Great Tier list Mark...I agree with you for the most part....you had the EF civic pic wrong but you made of for it with the correct and sick Kanjo videos....I really need to find these videos and see these sick builds. 7 gen they switched from double wishbone to McPherson strut set and people were not fans of that.. with that said you can K swap a 7 gen AWD swap a 7th gen to like most of the older civics.the suspension is similar to RSX so they can be modded. Keep up the good work bro.....still want good bad and ugly on the 5th gen civic maybe with the Fast and the Furious 1 heist Civics as a thumbnail if you can clear the copywrite( don't want you to get in trouble).
