Darcy, dump the coffin nails, they'll send you to an early grave. Sometimes you have to go back to basics. Either fish bottom, or jig, not both. All too frequent, when things don't go as we want, we push and that's when mistakes happen. A friend had a $6k carbon fiber bike on a roof rack. Came home, forgot the bike was on top, pulled into his garage and cleaned it shear off with the garage door. The only thing left was the rear hub and the seat post. Everything else was shattered or bent.

Omg. We’ve had this day. I cast a rod into the water once (which a vet we were with FISHED IT OUT) AND last Monday we were Lake Erie perch fishing and marking schools like crazy and could barely get a bite.

I never lost a rod in the water ! I came close once ! I was talking with a friend when I heard some scraping on a concrete pier. When I turned and looked, my pole was just about to go over the edge, so I dove to grab it, but I dove too far over the edge. Then I felt my friend grab my ankles. We saved my favorite fishing pole, and caught a 6 pound Rainbow Trout in Lake Michigan ! I have caught two fishing poles using jigs on the bottom though ! 😅

Hey thanks. It' just that it doesn't seem that for the last couple years going to some far off destination has not given us any boost in the profitability of that specific video. Like we make the same on a video in Boynton as we do on a video if we fly to Belize, but we have 10x the cost going to belize. Just one part of the puzzle, of course it's also more fun and entertaining and memory making to be doing awesome stuff, so it's certainly not just about the business. If it was, i'd still be a lawyer! lol -- Brian

Videos like this are exactly why I watch all of your content. It’s the real thing. It’s not sanitized or edited for only good stuff. Yes, you guys catch a ton of great fish, and yes Darcy looks great , but really it’s all about the legitimacy of your content. The only thing I would add is two years ago I switched to having my sinkers tied to a clip that is held above the fg knot, it really makes a difference to be able fight the bottom fish right to rod with no hand lining, and when re setting drifts winding the whole leader onto the reel to keep it out of the boat deck. But we have all had days like this anyone who hasn’t is full of it and ive lost and broken gear every way possible too. Keep on keeping real

Hang in there, your time will come. A couple of months ago I was on a boat out of Jupiter. They guy next to me some how went head over heals over the rail while fighting a big king fish. I grabbed his ankle and the guy on the other side of him grabbed the other ankle. He never actually went in the water but when we got him in the boat his rod was gone. Crazy sh*t!

That bad luck happens sometimes. Next time put a chum box under your boat on the bottom. Then drop your bait behind it for those mutton's. It worked for me in the past.
