Just replayed this because of John Wick 4. It stands up. For everyone who is saying "hotline miami," it actually feels quite unique when you get into it.

As someone who actually lives in Hong Kong, i can tell you this game gets it all wrong cause no way apartments in Hong Kong could be this big. Seriously, my place is even smaller than the bedroom from the game....... But the names of the districts are accurate, i agree this much.

The game does have a story (that of a maverick cop out for vengeance on the triad that murdered his partner), but frankly, it wasn't executed too well.

Fun Fact: This game is set in the same universe as 1992's hard boiled and Stranglehold. For more evidence mr.tequila is in one of the cutscenes asking the main character if he wanted wine or water lol.

This game was fun, bringing hotline miami top down gameplay with a graphic and music facelift for the setting, my only gripe with it is the 40$ price tag it had here in asia for the physical switch release, for the amount of play time and gameplay you get, 20$ should be more reasonable, would recommend it fully for that price point, otherwise wait for a sale

It does lack variety unlike Hotline Miami. Still, action is top notch and you can do some really cool John Wick tricks when you get the hang of the controls and mechanics.

The repetitiveness frankly hurts the game in general. I would personally not have minded some variety to the boss battles at the end of each act, something more than "run and gun on opposite sides and meet in the middle".

Not really. Think more Hotline Miami, but John Woo style. Hatred is an entirely different beast, and is frankly more of an "Active Shooter" simulator than anything else.
