I love Chris Christie like I love Preet Bharara, former US AG SoDistrict NY! I and many friends hunger for strong political leaders with good common sense who are down to earth, have traditional values, & care about the country and speak straight talk. I am comforted 45 listens to Gov. Christie. 45 needs to listen to someone other than space between his 2 ears. It is important I believe that I listen to Republicans so my views can have balance esp since I am a writer, historian and post a lot on web -- NYTimes. etc. opinion pages. I am a blue, blue liberal CA born and reared Long Beach resident from L.A. who misses The Obamas daily. Maybe Christie will convince Mrs. C to help him run 2024 for POTUS. Country is suffering from lack of leaders, and people without enough personality depth and character to lead ants on the head of a pin! Gov. Christie is engaged, intelligent, interesting and I like the story of him as a family man who is married to his college sweetheart to whom he bends in accountability. For those that don’t know; there is a reason the title uses “The Honorable.” So, here in America, we tend to address people by their titles after they’ve left office. For example, Jimmy Carter left the Presidency in 1981, but out of respect, people still refer to him as “Mr. President.” This, even though respectful is not really correct, it’s more proper to call him “The Honorable Jimmy Carter.” Same thing here; Chris Christie is no longer New Jersey’s governor, so they refer to him as “The Honorable.” Personally, I don’t like it. I think it’s more respectful to call them by their former titles. If I met a former Senator, Congressmen/Congresswoman, Governor, or President, I would still address them by their former title.
