ATV Special: Akwesasne TV investigates the legend of The Hoof Lady. Some say it is an “old wives tale” meant to scare people or more so youth to behave better, while others swear she’s real.
It is interesting that the mother's story was that close to the intersection between Rt 37 and Cook Road. The area known as Fountain's Woods in this tale is also the site of reported sexual abuse that defiled this area in the second half of the 20th century but without a specific date, according to local legend. I wrote some supernatural fiction that also involved this area. I was more than surprised to hear the tie-in with this "hoof lady" legend that I associated more with Kahnawake than Ahkwesasne. This was a decent coverage of the subject because it had some background interviews involved in the storyline. Keep more coming such as the rumour of Jacques Cousteau and the mysterious caves under Yellow Island and near the St. Regis Village (Kanatakon) church grounds. Dan Oakes the ironworker (and diver) may have the most recent storyline for this underwater tale...
My wife's family is from Mexico and one of her uncles has a story about how they pick a woman up on the side of the road and a few mins into the ride they noticed that her feet were hoofs...I know he's not a liar and his story is actually why I'm watching this video...there's some very crazy things in the world.
In Dayton Ohio we call her “The Horse Lady” I never encountered this entity but some people I know swear up and down it’s real. they say she lurks the wooded rural areas
im from kahnawake, my grandfather told us that she seduced him and lured him into the woods, but he escaped. when i visited the reservation for a funeral, there was a portrait of her on a neighboring building, right next to the woods. i wonder if maybe it was true..
