That bridge (US-93) was finally opened a passage for trucks. It has been a big deal. Many drivers call it, "I'm going through vegas", when trucking supplies to and from the Northwest or Salt Lake City. Before, we took US-89 through Kanab, UT. Many drivers did not want to go that route because of the tourist traffic. Now, I think that the bridge opening has made US-89 a better drive because there is less truck traffic on the scenic route or less aggravated truck drivers mixed in with weekend warriors. That bridge made a big difference.

My parents took us on an epic tour of the US back in the sixties. The tour of Boulder Dam was an amazing thing. That bathtub ring on the reservoir is a sad testament to climate change, and the lack of rainfall. Thanks for the vid.

Eric, cool video. Its just hard to imagine the water level being so low at the dam. All that white rock exposed around the bottom of the perimeter shows where the water level was at one time. Anyway have fun.

Great video, Eric! We crossed over the dam a few times, and I found it to be one of the busiest and most spectacular places we ever went. The new bridge was nearing completion last time we were there. I hope some of those winter storms reach Lake Mead, that water level is scary low.

I was there many times because my Great Aunt and Uncle camped and fished at Lake Mead every year. They would stay for the winter and spring. One time in the 1960's we took the tour way down inside of the dam. It was very impressive. One thing I always remember is how cold it could be around Easter. We would think we would be warm in the desert but when the wind came up even in the sunlight it was really, really cold. All these years later I still remember the cold while we were walking along the lake. Also, my cousins and I would sit outside someones trailer in the road and watch their TV through their front trailer window. We didn't know the people but they didn't seem to mind. LOL
