Such an important thing to remember! Calus was a tyrant, an egomaniacal monster that did unforgivable things… but he wasn’t a bad emperor. He truly wanted a better Cabal not entrenched in warlike tradition, something that Caiatl would reckon with in the Sol system. Great video!
The fact Caiatl and Calus never went along, but she learnt lessons and implemented them as you mentioned is a beautiful realization and world building.
Mostly because Caiatl decided to do something different from both Calus and Ghaul. She chose compromise and unity rather than conquest and subjugation.
Yeah, he just used It in a bad sense. Constant parties and hedonism but without any point of reason. Just for the concept of excess itself, to drown sorrow. What he acomplished in the end was quite hollow because people were practically obligated to partake on the celebrations. And being forced to "enjoy" completely takes the whole point awat
He was once a great emperor, when I got to know him before beyond light I always saw him as a weirdo who enjoys the finer things in life, neither friend or foe as we helped him with his problems, and he in return helped us with armor and weapons but more importantly knowledge of the things he's encountered. I don't truly blame him for the actions he committed (with few exceptions), after all, he was a great emperor, a poor father, and someone who had a vision for his people to experience the finer things in life. If only he was a good father in another time, but at least his final words were of someone he once loved before the end.
Wow Calus doesn’t get nearly enough credit. This makes me believe what we fought was simply what was left over after he was consumed by Egregore and his true form is now of a god
