This song ‘The Horses’ is Australia’s unofficial anthem and loved by all ages. Daryl Braithwaite is over 70 so such a treat to see him sing with a young star like Harry who obviously appreciates classic beautiful songs full of meaning.
I am so proud of Harryyyyy. Singing with legends in huge sold out stadiums. Just by himself. That is that boy that earned 2 deserved Grammys, and a sweep in Brits. 3 albums, 35 songs, 3 tours , hard work pays itself!
I’m not sure why Harry loves the song but it was amazing to see Daryls response to the crowd. I remember seeing him perform 45 years ago when he was a huge pop star here in Aus. It was like full circle to be there on Saturday.

This was magnificent!! Harry running to the side mid song then on the stage around the crowd with his microphone out for the crowd to sing whilst he looks over to Daryl a few times is very deliberate, he is saying look at all these people that know every word of this song, and reminding him how much he is loved. . It takes a very special person to offer a moment over to someone else when it should clearly be theirs. ❤

What an amazing experience! I remember when this song was released and it is fantastic to see it performed by Harry Styles and Darryl Braithwaite! Daryl Braithwaite is 70+ and still such a fun performer!!
Daryl Braithwaite, formerly singer of the 70s band SHERBERT, my band that I loved since the age of 14. They wrote the song Summer loving and howzat, just to name a few. Love that Harry invited him. 😍

Yes!! A few weeks ago I saw Daryl Braithwaite in Perth a few weeks ago! He was Brilliant!! And now Harry has him on stage singing and Harry sings Horses at every concert. ❤️ thank you Harry!
Daryl was here in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea for a fundraiser event last week. Was not there, but heard from an Aussie colleague of mine that when this song dropped, she could not explain how good it felt being in another country but feeling at home at the same time. Could see the pride in her eyes and loud voice that this song really means something to the Aussies.
Gosh, I haven't been this excited since Celine Dion invited John Farnham to join her on stage in 2018 & now it's Harry & Daryl & Daryl hasn't lost it & it's SO wonderful to hear the audience react to him in this way, this legendary rocker from the 1970's band Sherbet. I would say this is his signature song & Harry does a fine job with it too but U can't beat the singers from yesteryear, they are just too great & this was terrific to watch.

The Horses is definitely an unofficial Aussie anthem! Yes, it was written and performed by Rickie Lee Jones but was not a big hit for her. Daryl took it and transformed it in 1990 with gorgeous backing vocals from the amazing Margaret Urlich (RIP) who didn't want to be in the video because she was trying to get her solo career off the ground. A shame considering it was the biggest hit of Daryl's career. His version reached No. 1 in Australia, and by 2022, it had been certified decuple platinum. He talked to Rickie Lee Jones and told her what a big hit it was for him. According to Daryl she was stunned. She went to Australia in 2017 and performed the song live in concert with Daryl. She got the shock of her life when the crowd sang along with her. They knew every word!
Me and my mum went to this concert and left about 10 minutes early to avoid the crowds after the concert and sadly missed this part of the show but as we were walking down the street to get to the train station, we heard the crowd singing this and we were so confused. The next day we found out what was happening and were really bummed out that we missed it but it was still a great concert 😁
The star of this performance was the chick in the blue. She was doing everything. Piano, guitar, singing, selling merch, making Harry's next costume, driving the bus to to next gig, all while growing Harry's child inside her
