Josh is such a good dude... I've been eating that Tulsa Dog for almost a decade, and I've never seen him NOT be in this same mood. He's a solid part of the Tulsa food scene, and I'm freaking pumped to see him here!!
The world would be on fire. The few can only rule so long as the many are kept at each other's throats. As soon as the people start coming together, someone is payed to tear them apart. If a total loss of control is unavoidable, the world will be reset. As it has many times before.
this guys energy and attitude are amazing. I wish him every success! Im an Australian but would love to visit the states and would go out of my way to visit him
He really is, i fought a knife wielding crackhead with him one night and then we ate italian food out of a trashbag on the hood of my cadillac after lol at like 5 am downtown in blue dome
Back when this guy had his cart, he'd set up in front of Cain's ballroom. Once he was especially excited (I think 311 was playing in the venue) and throwing hot dogs high into the air over his shoulder and one landed in the open window of a passing car.
I got my first food truck last month (June2022). Me and my wife are a great duo, she loves to cook and I love to eat and entertain people. LOL. We both have passion for this business. I’m a month in and it’s this video that makes me not give up right now, just got my first spot at a mall for two months, just waiting for the city permit now. 🙏🏼 #ThanksVice #TulsaDogFather #ThankYou
I've never been to the US, but these kind of stories really make me soooo damn curious about visiting! He seems like such a cool dude, down to earth, real, honest. That's exactly what I really miss supporting in Germany because there's not a lot of food trucks around here, let alone with that backstory to it, ambition and soul.
As an American, I have a good friend who's British-Canadian (dual citizen) and grew up mostly in the UAE while going to British schools (his dad was in the oil industry) and first came to the United States for college. He's told me a number of times that the most "American" attribute he's been able to distinguish is that we're an "extreme" people. He thinks we tend to do most things hard-core and we're generally a very extroverted culture. I kind of agree with that and find it to be an interesting insight, though obviously it's still a generalization. Basically, this guy's just a hot dog salesman, but he does it with pride, creativity and passion. Tulsa is a mid-sized American city, not quite a "major-league" town, though it would probably still qualify as a big place in most other countries. It's small enough to still have a pretty tight-knit community and if you can hustle, it's a bit cheaper to do business there than larger cities near the coasts. I've been there before and while I wouldn't want to live there (hot, dusty climate, smaller oil-based economy, really conservative Bible belt culture, etc.), it's the type of place that's a good representation of a lot of places around the country, especially in the middle of the country. Hope you get a chance to visit the United States someday. Though our major coastal cities like New York, LA, Miami, San Francisco, Boston, DC, Seattle, etc. are all world-class places I would also recommend going to places in the middle of the country like Tulsa as well to really get a fuller understanding of this country. We're a weird, wild and wonderful place filled with crazy characters and colorful personalities. Come check us out! :)
Being a kid at heart can sometimes go a long way in life, not by making you rich but by keeping you happy and creative with what you love to do. This man looks so happy and energetic with what he does, I wish him the best in his business.
@@pavelow235 Agreed, once you have everything then you lose that passion in life. Life is all about winning every problem, obstacle and getting what you want through hard work. I personally know a few rich people that aren't happy with their lives so they do drugs and lots of pointless things.
Just sad it was so short, I would have legit not mind watching him for another 30 min, they could have gone into his menu, how each dog is different, guy is entertaining
That's because all the dogs are the same ... just different condiments. The only thing he makes himself is the chutney - doubt he makes his own tomato, bbq sauces or chilli sauces. Buns and hotdogs are bought and just heated up lmao you can do this yourself at home ...
@@mhelsen6764 I don't sell hotdogs so how are you meant to buy from me in the first place? 🤡 Original commenter asked to see "his menu, how each dog is different" but there is nothing to see because he doesn't make anything himself - just facts lmao
he's the definition of "i've been through so much in life, but i've learned to make the best of it and not become a miserable, angry person" love his vibes ☺️ edit: thank you all for the likes, i've personally never hit anything over 800 before , so to see 8X that is really awesome!
Every time I eat alone, I watch food videos and I always end up invested and satisfied. This one was amazing! The dude and his family have great energy!
I like watching food videos about real expensive fancy meals like caviar, steak, or seafood while I'm eating a cup of Ramen noodles and pretending it's delicious lmao. I swear it makes it taste better 😆😆😆
Josh is the real deal. We lived together and I worked at dog house for years. He hardworking, genuine, and has a lust for life most wish they could have in their own. Some of the best times of my life was spent side by side with big LYNCH DAWG. love ya miss you brother. Everytime I come back home it's like no time has passed. Friends for life. Also that truck is a piece of shit somebody start a go fund me for this friggen guy. It's his biggest impediment
Thank you Munchies for showing this! Tulsa is growing in the food scene...there's more to explore as chiefs here find a way to separate from typical Texas or Kansas dishes. It's a progress and Josh is a great example of what Tulsa has to offer. Come eat!
I've only been into Tulsa very few times (when visiting with fam in Sperry) and never knew nor would have known until now. Definitely will check it out next time I come out to visit with the fam again.
There used to be a "craft" dog place in Houston when I lived there some 8 years back called _Moontower Inn_ over in the warehouse district near that - at the time - new soccer stadium. They may have had a mobile truck, may still be around, no idea; but if you're in Houston and like to try interesting takes on a dawg, Moontower is your place. Craft dawgs appear to be taking over Nashville Hot chicken as the new craze in LA too (at least in the valley; the new residence)
Josh is the best, he has not changed one bit! He still is a humble and wonderful person, plus he makes the best hotdogs around! I see him more of a culinary chef myself, I’m glad to see that his business is still doing well after all these years! I remember the first days when he towed the cart behind his truck… Great times!
Finally got the chance to eat here last Saturday. His wife was running the truck and she was very nice, talked about filming this episode and what a great time they had. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get some drunk-at-2 AM food lol
Love these stories of a families making it out of nothing. Good service and great food while bettering their community. Thank you Vice and Munchies for bringing the best of America for us to experience.Much more to Oklahoma than a pioneer woman.
Awesome story. I have just embarked on the hot dog journey myself here in the UK, renovating an old little American hot dog cart, with a dream. Love this story.
I like this guy and his hair, he looks happy. They’re a nice family and I wish them all the best! I also wish for me to someday be able to try one of those hot dogs!🌭😋
This man has an incredible attitude towards work and work life. He reminds me a lot of my dad who was in the same business here in the UK for 30 something years, it doesn't matter how hard things get you just gotta buckle up and get it done. We live in a world right now where people would rather give up something hard and purposely live the unemployed life its embarrassing to see.
The man: I'm tired of eating hotdogs with ketchup, mustard, relish, onions.. Also the man 10 seconds later: Makes hotdog with mustard, ketchup bbq thing, onions.. :D
I'm sure it was partly for the camera, but I was very impressed by how cool of a head he had throughout that whole issue with the truck. I would have been pissed and stressed and made them turn off the cameras.
I have worked for Josh for about 10 years. Legit, if you live the food truck life and as long as we have you expect this stuff to happen and you have to roll with it. If you don't then you won't make it through. We are mechanics as well by necessity. Lol
Ran a food truck for a few years, these things literally happen constantly. If it's not the truck it's your generator, one of your fridges, supplier shorted you, flat tire, themo couple on the deep fryer is shot.. or all of those things happen in 1 week. You can't let those things get to you. It's a VERY tough business and if you do it will eat you alive in no time. Much respect for this guy doing it as long has he has. A couple years was enough for me.
