I must admit that I was sceptical at first, but the two of you blew me away! Thank you both for uploading, it's reminded me that I have a cello that I haven't touched in three years.
Its not perfect bc u get amaized by the music.. im a perfectionist and its not perfect but i must say its very very good! Could be longer i love that part😎😎😎
Excellent! Beautifully done! I've seen some comments about the speed, or difference in sound, but one thing people need to realize is that the music for the movie was played on electric, or electric acoustic, violins and the sound we got in the movie has some of that electronic effect in it. It was also recorded in a sound studio, undoubtedly covered on the inside with acoustic materials to block outside, and boost inside, sounds. Another thing also is that the mic's they're using in that sound stage are sensitive high dollar one's. Also the Gypsy girl in the movie was playing a Viola. The sheet music has Lestat on Violin, the Gypsy girl on Viola, and her father doing Guitar and a percussion line on the body of the guitar, that can be done better on a separate drumset. Finally, it was most likely faster in the movie to allow for time constraints. In production, when you're aiming for a specific movie length, you can only spend so much time on scenes that are lower priority, or aren't absolutely vital to the story, otherwise the movie would be two or three hours long. What these lovely ladies are playing is natural, acoustic only, (even though the lady on the left has an acoustic electric violin, but isn't plugged up to an amp, that I can tell,) and what they're playing is more relaxed. I adore it. They played it beautifully.
In my opinion, violin is a noble instrument and therefore learning is more difficult but gives maximum satisfaction and therefore learns to play on them.
EVERY.TIME I LISTEN TO A VIOLIN TUNE LADIES I THINK OF THIS GREAT DUO.. THEN HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS ART.. MINIMUM 10 TIMES..THANKYOU FROM ALL PARTS OF MY HEART!!
Wonderful, Jenny! And they said you were too old to learn violin at 17, was it? Just great. Wish I, at 75, had the courage to start. All the best, Robert
I only recently found Jennifer O'Connor aka the Hot Violinist. I found her videos when I was listening to the violin music for Queen of the damned. I saw others attempt to imitate the music but her version is the best.
THAT WAS SOOOOOOOO HOTT!!!!! I love that part in the movie but to hear and see it done, NOT on the set of a movie just made it like a 100 times better!!!!
My mother had the movie and a CD with the soundtrack. When I was little I used to put the soundtrack and this was my favorite song. I didn't watch the movie then because I was afraid I would upset my mother (I saw people shirtless and thought "maybe I shouldn't be watching this"), but then she asked me "did you like it?". Didn't understand a thing. But now, 15 years later, I've fallen in love with Lestat and the soundtrack. I'm waiting to get back home (I go to uni so I live a bit far) and finally watch it with my mother
Thank you for these wonderful instructional videos. I took violin lessons about 5 years about for about 2 years, but I have forgot a good deal. These videos have helped me get back into the saddle so to speak. So thank you very much.
