I think the white red bull was one of the best one off liveries ever. Right next to McLaren gulf monaco '21. Plus... They were actually raced in and not just a test livery.
I don't really get why everyone loves the white red bull livery. I mean, it looks alright. But it looks like the designer got the fill tool, painted white over the normal car, wrote arigato on the back and had an early lunch. Looks alright nothing special compared to other one off liveries.
@@ndh06 I think it's more of how special the color white is within JDM circles. Think of Honda and their flagship color Championship White they used for cars such as the NSX and the various Type R versions of the Civic and Integra. Add to the fact that apart from the majority white background, the red text of Redbull stood out. You know what else is red and white? The Japanese flag. People have yearned for a true Japanese presence to come back on the F1 grid as a team. This was as close as they got. Sometimes it's not about the complexity of the special livery. Sometimes we have to see the meaning behind each of the decisions they made for it. Art is rarely ever just the sum of its materials. I'll argue that the white Redbull was indeed, a work of art.
@@bonelesswatermelon420 I get the symbolic and history of choice of japanese racing white. I'm arguing that it's nothing special, especially compaired to their test designs and other one off's.
One of my favourite Alfa Romeo-Sauber One-Off liveries is the 2020 Snakeskin livery they used in testing. Such a dark, menacing look contrasted by the Alfa Romeo heart logo on the airbox.
I know the livery was there for a tribute for the victims of a terrible tragedy, but the 2001 Ferrari Italian GP, it one of my favorites, elegant and simple, appropiate for that moment. Great video, and congrats for the 10K
The 2008 RedBull Wings for Life car and the 2012 RedBull Wings for Life cars from Silverstone. Also the 2017 Force India from pre season I really like..
The amounts of content you're putting out are amazing, especially considering that the quality doesn't fall off. Hats off for that! I just need to find some time to actually watch all of the stuff I missed, life doesn't like the concept of free time when you gotta work and write a bachelor thesis at the same time. :| You could argue that by announcing you won't include the McLaren Gulf livery from the 2021 Monaco GP, you actually HAVE included the McLaren Gulf livery from the 2021 Monaco GP. *smug* I'm kinda sad about Red Bull never pulling through with a different livery based on their practice liveries. Don't get me wrong, their standard livery looks really good and in line with their branding, but it being around since forever makes me crave for something different. The Miami special edition was nice to have but rather more of the same. Oh well. What could've been with the 2007 Renault livery if it wasn't for a dutch bank. I didn't actually remember their practice livery, but I really like it. Wish I could've watched it while it was on the track, although that's probably been a little difficult of a task considering it was only used in testing.
Best of luck with the thesis by the way and I'll obviously take the content down a notch to make it more sustainable in the long term but I got ideas for the moment! And yes, I mentioned the Gulf one without doing so but by including it I won't get comments saying I didn't include it. I'm inclusive.
The white red bull is an obvious choice, but two i like which never raced (i believe) were both willliams, that stars and stripes livery they did for austin last year and the bmw williams test car from the late 90s
Williams BMW had 2 awesome testing liveries Circa 1999/early 2000 ish.also the Michael Schumacher 1997 Sauber Testing livery (Red Bull Petronas Colours , but sponsorless)
Love the video! Just wondering what the filter over the photos of the liveries are, I think it makes it a little more difficult to see. Regardless, some amazing choices!
Hey LawVS. The way you talked about the 60s cars, made me think of a question. What is you favorite era of F1? And if anyone else wants to answer, feel free to. ^_^ Mine is 1995 - 1999. Due to the title fights and tight racing (That I know of, I was born in 2003).
That Alfa Romeo could have been more sense in Imola, since it's also in Italy, and the timeframe is pretty sure not far-off from Baku with their initial intention of the Tonale Launch
That Renault livery should have, and should be an official paint scheme, that thing is hot! Course, blue and yellow always looks good together on pretty much anything, just saying!
Controvercial BUT since McLaren used a livery similar to the Gulf one i dont think the special livery was all that great,if anything its forgetable, now with Williams this season its special cause its a true "special" & not just add light blue to an orange car. Also lazy tbh ,if they wanted to be a true "special" they would have opted for the navy blue & orange variant like on some onl F1 gtr, this way a half blind person could see the difference between the papaya livery & the Gulf special.
@@LawVS hopefully not all orange with blue accents here & there granted thats the one 90% of people know(that or light blue with orange highlights) but Gulf has more variants that look so much better, hopefully Williams goes down that route.Even Aston could use a Gulf livery special since the DBR9/DBRS9(they soon went with the standard light blue & orange after that)had a Gulf varian using the darker brg kind, you should know then brit & all.
