A bit of info on the patch/update since it was mentioned in the video, they did release a patch on July 15 at Steam. Seems they added the ability to swap blood colors, some bug fixes and other "minor tweaks". Speaking of updates, there's also mods that will restore the classic soundtrack and even the original sounds, along with one that even brings in the soundtrack from the second game. I would definitely recommend giving those a try for subsequent playthroughs to really get the feel of the originals.
In my opinion yes it was worth the wait but I can't deny how much they took out like the classic "RELOAD" or the amazing soundtrack but SEGA lost the source code. Still I'm grateful it has got the remake treatment to show that light gun Rail Shooter aren't dead plus can't wait for the sequel remake!

Got it on sale for CAD$7.50, super worth it Regarding the OST, Megapixel SA weren't allowed to use it, so best they can do is to make something adjacent to the original. Blame Sega.
When I got the game on PC I had some severe and extreme graphical and sound glitches which has had me not play the game. Perhaps they've been fixed but I have yet to see. I would want a HOTD 3 remake as it's the first game Ive played in the series
Very Good Remaster of the Original but i Bought it on Nintendo Switch When i played the Remake/Remastered for the first time and beating the game for the first time it was Very good Nice to add Very good Weapons 100/100
Well you did buy the limited collectors edition to be worth the price. Should have just been the regular price as the digital. The increase in price for that one convinced me to cancel pre order. Two cut outs, a 3d card, and some stickers, yea not worth the extra money.
This game reminds me of those arcade games that you cant move, but it does the panning for you. I loved those types of games as a kid (lowkey love them now), and knowing that this exists on Steam blows my mind!!
It was its an arcade series that has been running since the 1996 been a childhood favorite of mine , and this is the HD remastering of that original game

On the other hand, I understand the Bad points #1 & #2 🤔, but IMO I just don't think it would make it as much impact as HOTD2&3, nor more unique & "WOW" than the current state of "HOTD remake". #1: Lack of content The reason why there is an "Original mode" in HOTD2&3R is because it's the only way to customize the gameplay from Arcade Mode via "items mods" (2 for Single-Player & 1 each for 2-Player). However, the Remake's new game settings/features makes more than half of the "item mods" () meaningless: - "credit mods" ===> additional credits can be purchased with your game score 🤣 - "weapon item mods" (ammo-up, power-up, etc. ) ===> the multi-weapon feature (available on ALL game modes) - "life mods" ==> doesn't matter since it works BECAUSE "Original Mode" restricts the amount of lives & credits, but all of that is nullified due to the unlimited credits (purchasing via game score) in ALL game modes - "Score mods" ==> this already has "Classic" & "Modern" score modes, so don't see any point in that. - "Skin mods" ==> can be added as an option in the "Player Selection" (unlock via Achievements) (Heck, add in a "Johnny" skin or "Magician" skin while we're at it 🤣) so the only viable power-ups can be utilized is "unlimited lives" & "unlimited lives", which doesn't make any sense to make a new game mode just for these two power-ups. while the "Training Mode" could be added solely for its unique play style, and completion could be added into the Achievements; (I rarely play Training mode, so I'm a little biased that its inclusion) "Boss mode" is not that appealing, since it's less than 2&3R: (4 individual boss runs + 1 All boss runs) vs. (9 individual boss runs + 1 All boss runs), also the multi-weapon feature can still be used in this mode. #2: No world building I don't think adding additional in-game dialogue/cutscenes is a good idea, cuz it will change too much compared to the original version of HOTD1. However, additional content for Easter Eggs could be added in the Gallery such as "Rogan's diary", "AMS Investigation Reports (Top Secret)", or "Curian's Lab Logs" (again, unlock via Achievements) Overall, IMO the current remake is good enough, and not that much changes are applicable (especially when there's no need for the "Original Mode"). Well, at least not enough to make it as interesting as 2&3R.
