Ausar really reminds me of the bad boys period Dennis Rodman, lateral quickness, repeat jumps and calmness, and it's not a shot to Amen, the brothers are pretty much the same build, it's just that rockets are a far better team using Amen way better on offense.
@@therocklau yeah it’s definitely worth noting Amen has a fair bit more shooting, passing and overall IQ around him vs Ausar in Detroit. Both have crazy potential
@@himekomurata72 that is the biggest question - shooting. Their form is just not good.... and a lot of these super-gifted athletic players neglect shooting fundamentals.
@@wallacegachanja9219If they keep Adams, I can see this team making playoffs. His screen setting, rebounding and defence is elite, literally the best screen setter and rebounder in the league. Move Alfren to the four and allow him to focus on his scoring, big things coming.
Amen and Cam are already showing good signs.. Next season will be scary with Sangun, Jalen, Tari, Jabari, cam and Amen. Add Vanvleet, Adams And Brooks. Things are looking good in Houston
I like your take but no way.. Sengun is a superstar in the making. Not many guys like him in the league. Add that with Jalen finally finding himself and the other young guys improving… sheesh
@beyondbasketballtv4893 Rockets last 10 games rank #2 Offense #3 defense Sengun bad fit to team Lack defense Amen at 4 it track team Team just dont score 85 in half Sengun an fred trade Add Ja Morant an vets be contender Tari,Cam get more minutes at 4 an 3.. Sengun bad fit he start team not running half court team Jalen wasnt getting Attempts Last 10 games #1 option average over 33
Really one of the best videos I've seen on Amen yet. Everyone gets how athletic he is, but this video really highlights just how SMART he is as a defender (Savant level). If he can get a consistent jumper and 3 ball going he'll enter into absolute superstardom.
i’m a Pistons fan (…….i know) and i’m hoping Ausar can adapt his brother’s handle because both of these guys can be some of the best players to EVER play the game if they ever figure out how to shoot
If you really watch them they both have good control of the ball. The thing is they both are SO athletic and SO fast that they see opportunity and actually rush themselves a lot and will fumble the ball (common things you see from great rookies year in and year out). As far as their shooting, it can only get better from here lol
Amen is like a quicker, more athletic version of Ben Simmons but with the work ethic, drive, motor to be great. He also has great attention to details and a pure student of the game. Also, he doesn't shy away from taking the open jumper regardless of his percentage like Simmons. I think because of his work ethic and dedication to the game, his jumper would improve significantly similar to Lonzo Ball. Jalen Green is insanely quick with freakishly athletic abilities, making it nearly impossible for anyone to stay in front. He's one of the quickest players in the league. But Amen proved why he's so special because his quickness and athletic abilities is even superior to that of Jalen Green
@@javiermedina6144 athleticism is just speed and vertical. Amen is super twitchy and strong with great body control. He could have been a professional athlete in just about any sport because of just how damn well rounded and amazing his overall size and athleticism combine together.
@@TVGoldMind bro so is Jalen...speed, vertical, great body control. Im just saying Amen is not crazy levels above Jalen in athleticism. I just thought "superior" was misused
As a spurs fan I have talk about for the past 3 years how Rockets young core was probably the best in the league at the time I’m pretty sure it was Jaylen, Kevin porter, sengun and they still had Wood (which I think he would stay on the team) Now they added Jabari and Thompson. I always said a rebuild takes 5-10 to see the results if a team does it correctly so far Rockets have been building nicely to that.
A rebuild shouldn't take that long. Teams have been going from horrible to playoff ready in 2-4 short years. Look at okc for example. Or the orlando magic. The magic just blew their team up in 2020 and went into rebuild mode and they already are in 5th place in the east and heading to the playoffs with a possible 50 win season. All it took was 3 drafts. 2020-2022 drafts to get to this point. I think okc went into rebuild in 2020 as well. And they're at the top of the west.
@@coreyjohnson5346 The purpose of a rebuild isn’t to just have one playoff success it’s about competing for a championship and having championship success. Yes rebuilds does take that long okc is just the expectation to the rule. Also okc already had the superstar-like player in Shai so all they really had to do was build a core and they did that and now after this season they can get some supporting pieces around their core.
@@coreyjohnson5346 the steps to a rebuild is if you don’t have one already it’s to find and get a player with that superstar potential or that already is one then you want to build a core look at warriors for example they found their superstar player in Steph this was 09 about and then develop their core with klay dray and Harrison and added Andre as a supporting piece and bogut after 5 years they saw results . Look when okc did it for kd drafted him in 07 build the core w/ Russ, harden and ibaka and added supporting pieces like fisher I believe, Perkins and they saw results 5 years later in 2012 it just they kind let harden slip through their fingers and they was unlucky w/injuries every year after besides 2016. I know those are only two examples but when you look at every successful rebuild (whether they got close to a chip or won it) it all took 5-10 years and then they’re examples like kings where it takes longer .
They're building themselves either a Boston or Denver. Before it was basically "James Harden or bust". I see multiple guys on this team that can step up and win a game now.
Man, thank you for shedding some light on Amen. I am a rockets die hard, and I agree with everything in this video. The mainstream media will catch up eventually. All Amen needs is a serviceable jumper and he's a superstar.
He's one of the better Popovich disciples. Figuring out how to maximize both Sengun and Green is his next challenge. Green shines at a fast pace, attacking the basket schemes. Sengun is a more methodical dude playing point center.
All the pieces are there! Shooters (Green and Smith) check! Strong post presence (Sengun) check! Ball distributors (Thompson & VanVleet) check! Lock down defenders (Brooks, Eason, & Thompson) check! Quickness, youth, speed, etc. (all of them). It’s all on Udoka now to make this all work!
Amen Thompson was already a talented person before he went in the NBA I remember he was in Reaper City with his brother. You cant let the 2 brothers together in the same team because they have to much chemisty
Tbanks for the video. Well made. Id like to see you focus on his offensive rebounding prowess in future videos too. He has a great ability to hunt down loose balls.
6Man you're the goat, you've always showed love to the rockets' young talent. Our core 6 is insane and with Ime coaching, our potential is through the roof. Amen is an insane player/athlete it's amazing to have him alongside the rest of the core 🚀
As a Rockets fan i don't mind the Ben comparison at all, because Amen will actually shoot the ball when he needs to. He doesn't have the hesitation that Ben did/does
He’s deceptively strong as well able to hold his ground against even some of the larger centers in the league when switched. I can see him becoming something like Kawhi on defense as he grows in size to around 6’7 230.
Went to the past two games Bulls and Jazz, I'm impressed by this team they are hitting baskets playing fast with good D! The mix of vets and youngstas is perfect! They are going to be a big problem for the media if they make the playoffs which I think they will!!
Amen Thomson learning to be the starting point for 2 seasons for now Jalen being the go to bucket getter whitmore attacking smaller players all being fed from the post by sengun is gonna be crazy
Rockets have so much young talent, and Udoka is the perfect coach for this young team. Amen is learning under Fred right now, but he will takeover the pg spot for Houston when the time comes. Same goes for Tari Eason in regards to the sf spot when Brooks tenure is up for Houston.
I wish Ausar was in a situation like amen…even tho he’s injured he still wasn’t getting good time…He proved to be an elite rebounder and defender same as amen they need to develop a shot to reach their superstar potential
Thompson’s IQ is through the roof. I love how he never celebrates too. Just business as usual. The line up I’d love to see when everyone’s healthy: Thompson Whitmore Eason Jabari Sengun
He reminds me of Kuminga at this point in time. Yet Amen most definitely has better defence and IQ. Kuminga puts so much pressure on the rim and athleticism as an above the rim threat. Kuminga would be a better shooter but Amen just got in the league and his work ethic on every other attribute of his game gives me a lot of hope in him working on his shot to perfection.
Amen needs a Jumper. It looks decent but if he becomes atleast a catch n shoot 3 point threat, and becomes stronger physically, he might just become monstrous.
Let him loose and start him every game. I've watched him in person and he's great. The Rockets are not going to make the playoffs; however, that's OK. We are re-building the team with a mix of good veterans and youngsters. Just wait until next year when more veterans want to play in Houston. We have a great arena, great fans, and a great future.
Thompson twins were absolute steals 😂, I would have never drafted anyone over them. Wemby for the Hype but these men were pick 1 and pick 2 and they should play through them if you wanna win and get better.
Just got tickets from the company I work for to go to the Rockets game and let me tell you the young players the Rockets have as their core players are going to be something special for along time. Amen. Senguin. Jalen Green. Brooks. Smith Jr. Holliday. Tate. I know Ime Udoka & Stone knew exactly what they were doing when he came to Houston. The Rockets are one of the hottest teams in the NBA and I think they are just barely realizing how good they really are. They are have some special, special players.
Rockets could be the next GS Warriors type dynasty with players like this and coach Udoka! Udoka is one of the top five coaches in the nba. Just a matter of time till this team matures and starts to win a lot more games 🥸
