Michael Oliver was paid £20k last year to officiate a match in the UAE last year. EPL refs make around £42k a season. You can see how this would be a major conflict of interest. This was a bribe masquerading as just officiating a match!
@gustaaf1892
@gustaaf1892 7 дней назад
Where did you get the 42k per season from? I've seen reports where they make a hell of a lot more on their retainers alone before match payments come into it. Edit, I've just looked it up. They receive a retainer of between 73-147k per year and receive in excess of 1.1k per match. Then you also have international and European matches in addition to that.

I am only going to ask these few questions. 1. Why is Arsenal the most victim of refereeing errors, inconsistency & controversial decisions in the Premier League? 2 already this season 2. Why have Michael Oliver given more red cards to Arsenal than any other team in his EPL career? 3. Why should Michael Oliver be the one to ref the same fixture where he made a controversial decision last season? 4. How can VAR forget to cancel out an offside goal against Arsenal in a match that was so important to how the league ends? The questions go on & on about how much Arsenal are a Victim of this inconsistency than any other team. Michael Oliver was the same referee who gave Martinelli 2 yellow cards in a single run of play (The first of its kind).

Its obvious Howard Webb just spins the narative to whatever fits the decisions made on the pitch. He is never in a million years going to openly criticise michael oliver - or any ref, he is always going to defend them. It will never be completely transparent - if they wanted it transparent it would be like the video referee in rugby / cricket - where you see and hear everything in real time and understand exactly why a major, potentially game changing, decision is made. Its beyond reproach. Prem officials *should* be beyond reproach, but inconsistencies like this and many many others leave them wide open to criticism - and rightly so. Fans just want every team to be treated the same regardless of league standing. You simply cannot say in one review that Oliver didnt want to send Kovacic off because it would 'ruin the occasion of such a big game' - only to then be content with Oliver sending Trossard off in the same big fixture for those offences. Both situations *were* worthy of sendings off. Its the lack of consistency in these moments which cannot be acceptable. The premier league is the best league in the world but some officials and VAR are making it laughable and causing these debates about integrity.

For instance, the WORST decision this week was when the ref who signalled to everyone that Morgan Gibbs White got the ball on the tackle on Joao Pedro, and didnt give a yellow. Then literally 3 minutes later, because the Brighton bench were protesting and Pedro stayed down, he comes back, changes his mind and gives the second yellow to MGW. Almost as if VAR whispered in his ear to say, the tackle looked worse than originally thought. Absolutely madness.

I would understand the rule more if it was used on a counter attack when someone did actually delay play, however when trossard kicked the ball and city got the free kick they were going to bring every player up for the set piece meaning the game is delayed whilst the teams reset and get into positions anyway, arsenal didn't benefit from trossard kicking the ball up the pitch and surely that is what the rule is aiming to eradicate? the avg human reaction time is 0.16-0.25 seconds (0.18 for audio stumuli). it's 0.15 for athletes trossard had 0.84 seconds between the incident meaning he had a minimum of 5x closer to 6x times the necessary reaction time for audio stimuli this is a complete red herring. it sounds like he didn't have time but u look at actual reaction times he had more than enough given he was already on a yellow, had just completely barged silva in the back and the week before rice had been sent off... it really was stupid, thoughtless thing to do. it seem players are doing it instinctively or through habit when ur trying to slow the game or hold a lead

I want to see the PGMOL investigated by an independent party. I truly believe there is corruption in this league. I would have never said this years ago. But, the evidence has gotten a lot clearer since VAR and increased scrutiny on officials. I doubt the Premier League wants to get into it, because they’re afraid of what they’ll find. But it needs to happen sooner than later. And once it’s done, they need to appoint an independent regulator who runs PGMOL like a business and not a boy’s club.

Michael Oliver is a city player, he’s on the City’s owner payroll and needs to be investigated. According to the law and it’s crazy nobody is talking about this, if a player is in motion to touch the ball after a late whistle then he’s within his right to take the touch but any extra touch is a yellow card offense. At first I thought Trossard was wrong kicking the ball away which was an unnecessary touch but I watched the game again and I saw 3 players in motion after that late whistle. Trossard was in motion to play a long pass to Martinelli and to proof this point I looked back at Tottenham game, he did the same thing which led to the corner which Gabriel scored. Trossard long pass ahead was what led to the counter that won the game against Tottenham

Micheal, On the Take, Oliver and other refs are bent towards Man City. Liverpool had to put up with this in 2021/22. The Rodri handball in the penalty area against Everton not given. If Everton score that penalty Liverpool win the league. Let's not forget Liverpool v Spurs that season, Kane commits a red card foul on Robertson but stays on the pitch but later Robertson is sent off for a lesser offence. Most of the the half was City playing from side to side around our penalty box. This is not about arsenal it is happening to a lot of teams and it’s unfair and ruining the beautiful game we all love. Michal Oliver Should definitely be investigated. Clearly a crook. Will anything get done about it, probably not as they suck each other off
