Love the Hu, they are so interesting, Hu or Human. Went down some deep rabbit holes on throat singing before listening to them. With Mothers Day coming up, you may enjoy their little bit different new song called Song of Women with Lzzy Hale from Halestorm. It's more of a ballad, but always love Lzzy Hale & interesting to hear her with the Hu.
This song NOT about any kind of faith but rather an endless cycle of addiction to something and/or someone who's gotten hold of your mind. Basically, you see no other way out like your life depends on it although it's taking a part of you away. In this pursuit of substance, power, or whatever, you make a scapegoat for your situation and dark side of yourself. It's 'sad but true'.
so true the beauty, the enjoyment is in the sound. in fact there have been several hit songs in the u.s. in peoples' native tongues sadly u.s. airplay is of the english version.
@@yomogami4561 That's basically what he is saying. I grew up with that music and never paid attention to the lyrics. I listened to the music. Today I mostly listen to Instrumentalist (no vocals)...
First time I saw the video for the Hu wolf totem, I rewatched it a few times, looked up one other song, then immediately searched and found tickets for a show a few hours away. They are amazing live! So powerful. I'll see them again when all this stupid stuff is over
I have a friend in Scotland, and she saw them several times. She also met them personally through the Mongolian community and was raving about their friendliness and humble personalities.
@@Hollylivengood well as far as I know, hu translates to human, and the band says they play “hunnu” rock, which might be a reference to the Huns but I’m not too sure. The stringed instrument you hear in the music is a horse head violin, it only has two strings and it’s a traditional Mongolian instrument
The music video is about mankind who has everything mankind ever wanted but mankind insatiable greed caused him to want more and when he finally realized there's nothing left he tries to preserve what's left
This is in my top ten Metallica songs, couldn't imagine a version done without electric guitar and in a totally different language would be so SIIIIICK! The string instruments do a pretty damn good job catching that electric guitar sound. And what little I knew about the Mongol language, I guess it makes sense it goes so well with metal music! WELL done! Thanks for both vids Jamel! Much love bro!
This video is slightly different from the meaning behind the Metallica song. The story being told here is about the pursuit of "things," of wealth and status and wasting your life on things that will mean nothing when you're dead and gone. At the end, the character learns and discovers there are more important things to do in life.
I think you're on the right track with this. Mongolia is being consumed by the fracking industry. This video is showing the land being stained and burned, and the imagery, with the shaman's drum especially, just shout "You are bringing curses into the center of your spiritual power and if you don't stop, you won't be able to hold the gold, the soil, or any water in your hands!"
The Hu are gonna be at Outside Lands later this year. It's going to be a tough ticket given the Covid restrictions, but I hope to see them live for the first time!
I actually discovered The Hu from reaction videos, and they've quickly become one of my favorite bands. I HIGHLY recommend the deluxe edition of their debut album, "The Gereg". It includes alternate versions of three of their biggest songs, collaborating with Western musicians who wrote English lyrics to be mixed into the song. All three of the collabs are awesome, but don't worry the originals are still there. They have a really cool mix of styles, and even if you don't look up the lyrics, it's just really good music. They reportedly have a second album planned for later this year, I know I'll be grabbing it on iTunes as soon as it's for sale.
Yo somebody liked this song enough to cover it in a different language???? 😮😮😮😮 This is my favorite Metallica song, and even I didn't know that!?!? This just shows not only that you learn something new everyday, but it also shows me that things definitely can actually be better than originally perceived!! I like it!! HELL YEAH!!!🤟😜🤟
This was amazing. I've watched at least 90-95% of your reactions but somehow missed the other from them. I know I'll be watching then and streaming their album, The Grereg, tomorrow during work!
These guys doing this cover with their own version of metal and singing it in their native language puts this cover on a different level. I actually liked it quite a bit.
As I have said elsewhere, just when you think the HU cannot become more epic than they already are, they go and do this. And definitively prove that Mongol throat singing is as metal as fuck.
Really glad you are introducing The Hu to more people.Think they are tough guys? Then check out their cooking blog. Yes, really. When on tour they do a cooking demo in every town they are in. Due to the pandemic they were stuck down here in Australia for a fair while last year - and so they cooked a lot! These talented, leathery guys are actually pussycats and a lot of fun. And they all admit they are afraid of their wives. 🤣
Actually, it was you that introduced me to these cats. I love them. Turned my granddaughter onto them. We listen to them while we drive. A tad dangerous as I love to drive fast. Long story short, thank you.
1st time ever hearing, seeing and learning about this band. I'd say I'm about 2 levels higher than merely impressed. Totally supercool video and rendition. 🤘🤯🤘
Until last week I never heard of The Hu, a friend shared it, saying it's her new favorite band. You HAVE to do the videos, IMO they are the best part. I recognized the Mongolian Throat singing from The Big Bang Theory".
Same.... Hu's on first? If they start covering The Who... total chaos and the space time continuum will fold in half!!! AND THEN HALF AGAIN AND THEN HALF AGAIN... ad infinitum
Yooo, this needs to be on the new MK movie soundtrack. They made an already epic song even more epic. I'm sure Metallica appreciated this cover. Dayum!
There's an interview with them on RU-vid talking about making the music for the Stars Wars Fallen Order. They seemed so humble when I thought they would be the opposite
Yes Metallica did see this and posted it to their facebook page another song you should check out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oJZfEh3EciU.html Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - The Hu Music Video promise you will love it
👉 There's an old story about greed: The last man in the world found the last tree in the world. He noticed gold in the ground, overwhelmed with greed, he took all the gold he could find. But without the gold in the ground, the tree died, and without the tree as a source of food, the man died too. 🌼🇩🇪 👉Sad But True Hey hey I am your life I brought you these days Hey hey I am your spirit I am the person who cares about you He too Fooling you I'm your only true friend They too Will deceive you I'm always with you I am your dreams that make you come true My eyes when you need to steal I'm your pain when you can't sense Sad truth My dreams that lead your mind to the bad way When your eyes are far away I'm your pain when you have to respond You know this is the sad truth Sad but true You you You are my veil You are my shadow and my refuge You you Cover my face Take my crimes Do, do Do my deeds Be my scapegoat Do, do Do as i said You are the one who will be ashamed in the end I am your dreams that make you come true My eyes when you need to steal I'm your pain when you can't sense Sad truth My dreams that lead your mind to the bad way When your eyes are far away I'm your pain when you have to respond You know this is the sad truth Sad but true My dreams, your shadow I'm your pain My dreams, your shadow I'm your pain You know this is the sad truth Shhh shhh My hat My hatred for tengriye Shh you Even if you need love I am the grudge in you Hey hey I am your life I brought you these days Hey hey I am your spirit You don't care anymore I am your dreams that make you come true My eyes when you need to steal I'm your pain when you can't sense Sad truth My dreams that lead your mind to the bad way When your eyes are far away I'm your pain when you have to respond Sad truth Sad but true 🌼🇩🇪
Yes! Modern foreign-language music on this channel! It's exciting. More please! :) I'd like to recommend the all-female Japanese hard-rock group Band-Maid and their song "Warning!"
