The official video for "Wolf Totem" has the translation on closed caption. It's basically a war chant, "If you come at us with this, we'll come at you with this and obliterate you".
In ancient Tengri religion, most of us believed that Tengri sends good singers to prepare them, when they die ,they will perform to tengri and other nature gods(spirits)
They sing about their Mongolian heritage and in this song about methods they will use to defeat enemies who attack them. They are musical warriors. Check out Yuve Yuve Yu.
Each of their songs has meanings to them. The one they do with Izzy hale is called woman. They are commemorating women of all ages including their moms. Which is beautiful.
“HU” means “Human”. Mongolia freed themselves from the oppression of the USSR. The HU has an important role in bringing-up & empowering the Mongolian youth of today. The words to this song is relevant. Mongolia are my Ancestors….I am 71…2nd generation in America, and am so thankful my Ancestors had the strength to travel thru Siberia and Turkey to come to this beautiful Country of America.
One in every 200 men is a direct descendant of Genghis Khan. So there's lots of Mongol DNA around the world. Can't find figures, but think Attila was a pretty busy boy also.
Have other of their 🎵 music and videos excellent music and the words though not my language is translated on many videos agree with the music being one of great joy and sounding. Ps much of the words Tell history of their people's lives
Just found out they are touring with Five Finger Death Punch 🤜… along with Magadeath… now I really have to go. I’m so glad That they are turning with five finger Death Punch because they were placed into my feed because of them. Kind of excited to find a new band to rock to!
These are the only ones I wanted to see, too bad coachella fester don't mosh, they need to witness an American wall of death,, that would be epic to this awesome battle music. For Honor with some Hu playing is the best
I just found these guys last night. Lo and behold, all the way from Mongolia, they are playing here in Nor Cal in 3 weeks at a small club. I am going and l'm going to go insane with primal joy!
If you compare the singing on stage side by side to the music video it is identical with timing pitch breath in between lyrics and everything... hence why I say it's really disappointing because I would have loved to have heard what they sounded like live
These guys are classically trained musicians with graduate and post-grad degrees in musicology and have many, many years of stage experience. The real difference between their recorded music and the live shows is with those huge high-quality speakers and the massive energy SLAM gained with audience participation!
The beauty of their sound is they can play their instruments and sing absolutely anywhere and not lose their sound whether on a concert stage or on a mountain, Steppe, or absolutely anywhere
i know Hunnu is about being a global touchstone of culture, but it's odd to have the raw splendor of wolf totem in front of palm trees. It really is more suited to the empty places of the world, where humanity finds its gods.
Cool sound. Band by day but come night I gotta feeling these guys howl at the moon and get Abit rough around the edges . That sounds like words chanted in harmony to summons a shape shifting power that requires a need to feed on flesh and blood . But then again ..... what do I know!
This is what happens when you accidentally left your ipod playing metallica inside a nomads tent in remote mongolia. Okay, no more air bnb mongolian tents for now
Awesome these guys are rockin!. Coachella Festival is the place to be. Hopefully I can go to these one day. THE HU IS POWERFUL AND TALENTED!.I would like to congratulate and see them live. Lets 💃 🕺 ger the party 🥳 🎉 started
These dudes need to be somewhere like Ozzfest or Bonnaroo. Somewhere with a crowd that cares about talented musicians. Coachella is all pop star fanboys/girls. I was looking over the lineup and this is the only band that raised my eyebrow
Coachella is not all about pop star fanboys/girls, that just ignorant. Just because you don't know the bands doesn't mean they are not there. We had Idles, Turnstyle, Maneskin, Danny Elfman, Viagra Boys, Spiritualized , The Chats.. that's just off the top of my head, there were numororous others.
Your missing out on some of the best bands around right now.. the fact you don't know who Idles or Turnstyle is .. really any of those I named only shows it's a you problem.. not the festivals. You really check them out. The bands are alive and well!!
They've dropped the redundant W from their name, out of respect to another band. The throat singing blends perfectly with heavy metal. What's not to like here? The Mongols are coming, a thousand years later..
I don’t know why, but listening to the Hu brings an image of proud people riding a Mongolian pony and the beat of the hooves are reflected in the music!❤️
The Hu, de mis grandes favoritos. Larga vida a la bella Mongolia y sus criaturas. ¡Gracias por el testimonio, Brian! El canal de The Hu es este: ru-vid.com/show-UCs6vRDdkZ8bP8Xt6WHbvrwA
Mongolian throat singing. Rock beat. = one hell of a new music!...Cutting edge performers bringing Mongolian music to the world. guttural and hits you hard!...Excellent!
Modern day's music suck ass! The HU rocks and brings music like no other. Really do you wanna listen to justin timberbracke and brittney without out spears etc!
