The HUGE Problem With Shields in Genshin... 

Not if you have zhongli,also if you get hit without shield you just die ?also you didn't mention diona c6 or pyro reso with Thoma ,wanderer without shield /charge bow attackers or string attack chars

@@grimnotes7885 I didn’t mention pyro resonance with Thoma because that has nothing to do with Thoma himself any pyro char can get pyro resonance. I didn’t mention Diona because most teams where you’d want cryo shield don’t care about EM. You don’t die if you get hit without a shield and quickly heal that back up. Also, I’ve seen many people complaining about their Zhongli shields breaking in recent abyss’ On top of that there are enemies like rifthounds and husks that essentially punish you for bringing a shield

​​​@@GenshinNoirmy zhongli shield broke in this abyss. Possibly because my zhongli is a hybrid build with geo damage and has 36k hp only. Btw c6 diona is actually good in freeze, 200 em will make your kazuha able to give 8% more elemental dmg bonus which is good enough for ayakas burst. It decreases in value if you use furina though. But with mona it's good

@@GenshinNoirAny pyro character can utilize resonance sure but when you’re talking about their offensive capabilities and viability it still deserves to be mentioned since that’s a big reason why thoma is used in wanderer teams

yeah from balance perspective it makes perfect sense for you to not get the highest DPS possible using a shielder since they let you just unga bunga against most enemies - but the amount of DPS you lose by using them in most teams just feels way too big right now imo - makes it feel way better to just get skilled enough to play without a shielder

​@@GenshinNoirGood reflexes are not something everyone has, and we don't play genshin as a job to want to struggle to "get good". If they don't want to buff shields they'll just have to keep abyss catered to the amount of damage teams with shielders can put out

But then in the case of not everyone having good reflexes or the care to play without a Shield, wouldn't buffing Shielded teams to be closer in power to unshielded teams than they are now, be entirely a good thing? They would then not be missing out on much anyway by using a Shield@@ancalyme

I think they should be buffed, not super huge but add some better buffs or debuffs to the table. Not to make them TOO good, but Furina gave a massive buff that I don't have to think about much of anything even in the Abyss which is a DPS race. Genshin's end game is just a DPS Race.

The damage numbers I showed are damage per second, not damage. That’s Ganyu for example losing 11k Damage Per Second compared to what she could do if she didn’t need a shielder. With certain characters that just can’t do anything about getting interrupted like Ganyu since she can’t even dodge without losing a massive amount of damage, yes you are likely going to perform best with them by using a a Shield despite the theoretical loss in dps. However, look at how pitiful the dps is - 57k is extremely low these days when top tier teams are reaching 80k dps without much of any issue. I think it’s completely unbalanced right now to have to lose so much DPS by using a shield.

I think it would need to be a new support set rather than dps set, something like 2pc hp 4pc provide X buff to team when character wielding set creates a shield

@@GenshinNoir Actually your idea sounds better, could be a shielder version of the new songs of days past set, where active char gets a damage increase(percent or flat) based on a stat. It would have to be broken and conditional like all other broken sets, E.g VV requires swirling the element, MH requires hp fluctuations. Like maybe 0.5% dmg% for every 1000 max hp of shielder up to 60k max hp, so 30k hp = 15% Dmg, 50K hp =25% Dmg, Or maybe a 10% dmg bonus which increases every time the shield takes a hit, max 3 stacks each stack lasting 5s Or 10% of the shield element absorption% turns to that element Dmg bonus, so a cryo shield with 250% cryo absorption gives 25% cryo damage bonus, pyro shield 250% pyro absorption = 25% pyro Dmg bonus, while Geo shield 150% all element absorption = 15% all element Dmg bonus. Or deliberately make it focus on the damage avoidance aspect of shields, where it gives a Dmg bonus based on the current HP percentage of the active char, E.g. max bonus when current HP >90%, no bonus below say 50% hp.

Yeah really hoping that there will indeed be a future character archetype to fix this in the near future

@@dominicjannazo7144Ganyu Melt needs Bennet, and with his healing, Dehya’s 100% stagger resistance (with damage reduction) is a much more reliable protection than any shield. Sadly, it doesn’t last long. I wish it lasted 12 seconds. Not that I play Melt Ganyu. If I want to play Ganyu, I go with mono Cryo.

Since the whole reason of furina being on that team is the damage buff and off field hydro application for lyney to vape then no, just use hp% like a normal build, you don't want furina stealing vapes in the first place so why even bother trying to make them better

she is the one vaping in that team, so Em can be use to increase damage

you dont vape Lyney there - you use Xiangling to get enough pyro application for Furina to forward vaporize while Lyney still gets Pyro aura for his damage bonus buff@@Aquastarlord217

@@GenshinNoir Yes it would be cumbersome given the current roster of units, but just like how many Fontaine units + Gaming have Self HP Manipulation and can more easily use those kinds of buffs, units that can cause Self DMG to themselves would make this effect much easier to trigger. Units that can constantly generate shields won't be that hampered, and single use shields should be strong enough to gain close to max buffing.

why would they be less than old teams?

Nowadays some enemies like the breacher primus, tulpa, constipated beasts, etc. hit hard enough for you to still need to think and dodge even with a shield tbh

@@GenshinNoir The argument is that you are trying to make a problem where there is none. You act as if shielders needed changes, because healers are "a lot stronger". Healers are only useful when they can buff or baterry as well. It's the reason healers that can do none of that, such as Qiqi, have always been deemed a bad characters, regardless the fact she is one of the strongest healers in the game. That's because Genshin has always been the type of game where the best defense is more offense, and any kind of mitigation is only needed when you cannot one cycle something. I, for example, often complete the Abyss with no Healers/shielders at all. For most characters, shielders are not used to keep a character alive, but simply because the interrupt resist is useful to bypass some of that character's flaws, such as Ganyu or Neuvillette being interrupted because they got hit. After Furina, healers became meta again, not because healers are "strong", but because Furina is strong. The healer only exists in those teams to extract Furina's full potential. Except that for those of us who have Furina at C2+, a healer is useless again, because I can max her Fanfare stacks with Prototype Amber passive alone. For all due effects, we have some characters that can buff. We can think of them as the Harmony characters in Honkai Star Rail. Just like HI3 and HSR, buffers are extremely important, specially for Hypercarry builds. If those characters happen to be a sub-DPS, a Healer or a Shielder, it doesn't matter, because they are there only to buff. So, "buffers" are BiS. Healers are still useless, as they have always been, specially if you know how to play this game, can single cycle things, and invested in your Furina. My Neuvillette team, for example, runs with Neuv, Zhongli, Kazuha and Furina. Zhongli is there only for the 15% shred and arcaic pettra buff. Any healer would be a DPS loss, and quite useless, because Neuv is able to max Fanfare by himself. In short, the character with the best buff will be always used, regardless if it's a healer or shielder. If Natlan characters provide better buffs than Furina, the "healer meta" will be a thing of the past.

Im confused - your saying my video is clickbait because you think healers weren't that good before Furina? What does that have to do with video? I literally talked about what Furina brought to healers in the video. Furina was released in 4.2, we are in 4.4 and this video is about how things are right now, it has absolutely nothing to do with the past. I'm not even sure what point you are trying to make Yoimiya - nowhere in this video did I tell you not to play her without a Shield. I compared the math of playing her with a shield vs without, the point being to show just how much DPS is left on the table by playing with a Shielder vs if you could play without, compared to healers not having the same issue. Did you even watch the video or were you just looking for something to act like a smartass about?
