You can still find uncrowded waves here and there if you hunt around. I’ve surfed for 36yrs up and down the east coast of Australia and never had to drop in to get my wave count., until now! Now you’ve got to be part of the problem to be your own solution.

Those big straight beach breaks up the coast would be ideal tourist attractions if they threw in a few artificial Surf reefs.

I'm an older dude now, what I/we experienced with surfing words can't even describe and if I did tried to explain how amazing it was before all these crowds it would be a crime because again words wouldn't do it justice. Now we have in many areas of life a *FREAK SHOW* as you can see. What used to be amazing, special and even Holy, is now one big *Circus FREAK SHOW!* I mean I remember as a kid going to the Circus you used to have to pay to see the tattoo FREAKS, now... ....now -- the tattoo freaks ARE FREE TO SEE lmaooooooo

I'd be more afraid of actual catching a good wave and then the crowd beating me up in a fit of jealous rage.

It's almost a good thing, so many people learning how the system works which then filters down into local line up better behaviour. Confidence and aggression are a big part of surfing sometimes.
