I’ve loved this song since it came out when I was a preteen in the 80’s. Another 80’s group that sounds similar whom I still love and listen too also, Animotion- song is called, Obsession. Please react to it if y’all haven’t .❤
They have a song you guys might know called, "Human." Philip Oakey (lead vocals & main writer) and the two girls out front, but the rest of the band were sort of behind the scenes.
The Human League had lot's of hits in England love action , fascination , being boiled , Lebanon , sound of the crowd , mirror man , all great songs they were a futuristic electronic band , the electronic movement was big in the late seventies and 80's in England , bands like OMD , BLANCMANGE , Gary Numan , soft cell and others it was good stuff .
Obsession- Animotion. Crew this is another fire 80s synth pop tune that was a top 10 billboard charter in the mid 80s. Love for u to react to that one. Keep on keeping on gents!
My now adult son used to sing this song when it came on the radio. Sitting in the car in the back seat, 2 years old.😅 Always think of that when I hear this song.
I love the back and forth in the lyrics between the man and the woman. Years later there were all those answer songs like Roxanne’s Revenge, remember? The Human League just had the man and woman in the same song. Other Fire songs by them imo are Mirror Man, Fascination, and Human.
Great video/reaction guys. That song was on the Album Dare and 2 other tracks from that I like are "Love Action" and "Open your Heart". They had several other hits including "The Lebanon", "Fascination", "Mirror Man" and Electric Dreams (I think that was in a movie of the same name).
I read that they were in their 6th form class when the headteacher came into their classroom to tell them to pack up because they were going to be on Top of the Pops that night. 🇬🇧
Male vocals sung by Philip Oakley. Written by him, Jo Callis and Philip Wright. Female vocals sung by Susan Sulley. 1st Billboard Number 1 with all synthesizers and programmed drums. Great song and video. Suggested video: Human League performs Fascination.
In 1981, I used my babysitting cash to buy this 45 at Pat's Music store in Philadelphia. Good times for sure, and nice review. Take care, and Happy Saturday 🙂
Oh man! Memories of my 20’s! This is one of those “epitome’s“ of 80’s music! I’m back in the dance clubs on “Electric Avenue” (11th Ave, in the oil boom town of Calgary Alberta!) What an INSANE time for music! I still don’t like to tell people how much I liked it! (I was a bonafide Rocker at the time - it wasn’t cool to like this stuff!) Peace
*A historic song: this hit the number one spot in the US and kicked off what's known as 'the second British invasion' where British acts would go on to dominate the US charts for the rest of the 80s. The second British invasion was historically success, gaining even more success than the first British invasion that included the likes of The Beatles, Rolling Stones etc, so that shows you just how successful the second British invasion was.*
Their song "Human" was mentioned, which was later with a more R&B sound, but a high energy track like "Sound of the Crowd" should be your next stop. And for a minor hit "Mirror Man" is just a cool low-key bop. Both would get views, but if youre chasing #s, then yeah, go with "Human." Hey, looking to my right, I see you did cover it. Going there next.
Olli Wood please play the video for the guys of Grand Funk Railroad doing Inside Looking Out I watch the reaction that you had when you watched it and think the guys would love it
Here's what always messed with me conceerning the video. The Director talks about how he raised her up and made her a star BUT the female who's replying in song wasn't the actress but rather the film editor.
This happens when American R&B reaches across the ocean and comes back as a cover: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n7sUk3Vkv9Q.html what ever happened to this British cover band.
Oh, the beginning of MTV comes with The Second British Invasion (& European). Those bands had been making videos for years. Sadly, MTV is nothing but schlock "reality" crapola.
